$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Eli', 'I') thought Deckard might be an advanced replicant as well just like the Rutger Howard character there were some clues but I can't remember what they were.

Ridley Scott answers the riddle
Very thin stuff, Eli. No doubt exactly what the movie people relish: strange rumors. It doesn't matter and it's only a game, sort of like Is Paul McCartney Dead? John Lennon answered that one in a song: 'All those Freaks was right when they said you was Dead!'

Why in God's name should I care or give one holy crap what "Deckert" was? I'll admit that R. Scott is a cool moviemaker, but I'll be damned if I care about the fictional specifics, which are all arbitrary anyway! :x :P :-D   (Actually, I think that's your point, too  )

What the hell?

I didn't expect the Spanish inquisition.

Scott says he was a repilcant,

I remember watching the directors cut and thinking he might be a replicant. Take that for what you will or don't same difference.

I can tell you to go blow a goat it is your choice to do so or not.

I watched 1984 at the weekend too! I think this is the scenario which will most likely play out, sadly. Brilliant film though. Watched Clockwork Orange too (I was on my own this weekend.) Ultra violent. Ultra strange. really good film.

PMS yes we Brits are full of guilt. Blushy faces were meant to express that so you got it right. It is immoral to like a trashy film, especially when you've criticised it in the past thinking you know what you're talking about.

Why didn't anyone correct me I wonder.

Want to see Mad Max 1 now. I am quickly becoming a geek. I don't care.

Remember Woody Allen and the Sleeper? Does that class as sci fi?

Guilt is a troubling and interesting emotion. Why do we have it? It must have some natural function. It's like the flip-side of love. Maybe if we have no guilt, then we have no love. I do think it can get overbearing and must be rejected in the same way that all emotions are rejected, by repression

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PenultimateManStanding', 'T')otal Recall is one of my favorites. The twists and turns of the plot are marvelous.
Yeah, it's great, I love at the end where Arnold's character is lobotomized - the whole movie occurs on the operating table you know. He lies down to get the "recall" implant and never wakes up. The whole thing is his mind dealing with the implant. The entire plot of the movie is completely given away when they tell him about the "recall" fantasy that he has chosen for implant. The scene where the doctor comes in the room and asks him to take the pill or lose his mind - the doctor is real, that's really his last chance. The fade to white at the end is him getting lobotomized. Freaking great.

You remind me of myself in my 20's. If you like these kinds of movies check out www.futuristmovies.com. Woody Allen was at the top of his game in the early 70's. I collect old 60's and 70's sci fi DVD's check out the old THX-1138 and then watch the special edition version the DVD has many bonuses including some stuff Lucas did in college. Before Jurassic park Crighton came out Andromeda Strain and Westworld. Also Special edition of Escape from NY(alternative beginning), Solyent Green, Outland, Logan's Run, Zero Population Growth, if 1984 was your bag you might try Brazil. I also have all 48 episodes of Space:1999 in my stash.

I read Clockwork Orange back in college after memorizing then entire movie. The dialect is sort of a future mod english and it's tougher to read than shakespeare. FYI-Remember the big bodyguard with the glasses at the old mans house? That was David Prowse AKA Darth Vader.
