timmac it depends which 2012 earth change scenario/theory you’re talking about: C. J. Calleman’s interpretation of the Mayan calendar, or the easier to understand pole shift/earth axis calamity?
Here’s a link explaining what the latest interpretations of the Mayan calendar mean:
http://www.paulapeterson.com/New_Revelations_Mayan_Calendar.html$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '-')“The actual pattern of Creation described by the Mayan calendar looks like a pyramid which consists of nine levels or cycles. The bottom level or cycle in the pyramid represents the longest period of time, i.e., 16.4 billion years ago and is called the Cellular level of Creation (first live cells). The second level or cycle from the bottom of the pyramid is 20 times shorter, i.e., 840 million years ago and is called the Mammalian level of Creation (first live births).
Continuing up the pyramid in this fashion with each level becoming 20 times shorter than the latter, the third level ,i.e., 41 million years ago is the Family level (family relationships). The fourth level, i.e., 2 million years ago, is the Tribal level (Homo Sapiens/tools). The fifth level, i.e., 102,000 years ago is the Cultural level (agriculture/religion). The sixth level, i.e., 5,116 years ago is the National level (sovereign nations/laws). The seventh level, i.e., 1755 AD is the planetary level (internet/global economy). The eighth level, January 4, 1999, is the Galactic level (ethical considerations). And the ninth level, i.e., February 10, 2011, is the Universal level (conscious co-creation).”
People don’t realise that the Mayan ‘prophecies’ don’t say anything about the end of the world, so no cataclysmic end-times scenario. The Mayans believed what they observed in the heavens is reflected down below (as above, so below) within each human. And most people find it hard to accept that what the Mayan’s observed in the solar system was very different to what we can see today, you can check out W. Thornhill’s theories for an easy to understand explanation of this. If the Electric Universe/catastrophist explanations are correct (and they make absolute sense to me) then we don’t have to worry about planets colliding in 2012 but we shouldn’t ignore the influence of planetary interaction on our atmosphere, at every level.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwMDYNRZUKY Those who dismiss the Mayan’s or the Egyptians as a bunch of backward star gazers just fall into the trap of believing modern science has actually discovered and explained everything on earth to eveybody’s satisfaction. It hasn’t. Today, if a scientist says it is so, then we all assume he is as wise as the temple hermit of more simple times, who in fact he ressembles in his social role. New theories of biology and evolution are revolutionising the established paradigm, giving us more holistic explanations and challenging the status quo.
http://www.thelivingmatrixmovie.com/bruce-lipton To understand the many theories surrounding the magical date of 2012 I don’t think you have to spend hours poring over ancient scripts or reading astrophysical data. It can be summed up thus: we are coming to the fulfillment of an evolution in consciousness, we’re not all reaching there at the same time and we can definitely still fcuk up a bit more. This consciousness evolution involves something a huge number of people are really resistent to: change. As the word ‘conscious’ implies, this is not something which will happen by itself. As Calleman says: “many people ask this question as if the answer had nothing to do with themselves or the choices they make.” So you better get with it, if you really want to see some ‘change we can believe in’!
To me, this whole end times 2012 hype reflects the global human dis-ease which most people on PO are aware of. I believe we are conscious of a sense of decay all around us. Some people perceive it cleary through things like climate awareness and ecological disaster, some people understand only the collapse of Wall Street, others feel despair at the decadence of established ‘democratic’ politics obvious throughout the Western world and some see it as the inexorable rise of general illness and life threatening conditions such as diabetes, obesity, cancer and hypertension. Here on PO the majority see it as the end of global energy resources. All these things put together equals humanity in crisis and we all subconsciously know that more weapons, more money, more politicians …. in short more of the same is not going to change anything. So what is?
I think 2012 is about changing our selves in order to save ourselves. So, yeah I DO believe in earth change, though I’m not so sure we’ve got the date right!
