I, too, am depressed by the bathetic, uninspired reaction of Joe Sixpac. Not really surprised, considering the intellectual and moral vacuity of consumer-driven corporate-industrial civilization.

As I walk the highways of western Montana I notice less roadside litter--much less beer and soda cans, but no decrease in discarded lottery tickets. Interesting to note I find many tickets discarded around 1 mile from the gas station convenience stores--so i guess the pathetic buyers get about 1 minute of hope before, once again, they're reminded that they're really losers.

One of the most ironically redolent moments came when I saw an elderly gentleman gathering roadside aluminum cans and placing them into the back of his Cadillac Escalade. That really kinda sums up our present situation, doesn't it?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('efarmer', 'O')ne of my biggest surprises is that we insist on eating tilapia when we are so good
at creating delicious and very filling straw men. I think since we love to grow them,
we should consider roasting a few and seeing if they are good to eat.

Having been accused of not caring about the depletion of the fish species,
I promise to concentrate on creating a straw fish, who like a salmon, will
live a rich and wonderful life, and return to it's original, whimsical, stream
of thought to spawn.

that fish is gonna appeal to the CORNies...;) (couldn't resist)

Impressive graphics as of late Pstarr, and good content as always.

What is gaslone, is that when you are by yourself and fart in the car?

If so, remember to save a good one for the Gipper!

Probably wise. Like, I never have expectations, therefore I am never disapointed.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'T')hat's what I said. It is a trailing indicator because it comes out of ones buttaco's.

That's fundamental.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('shortonsense', 'S')o of all the wild and exciting changes which have taken place since peak oil happened, which has been the biggest SURPRISE? What one thing which you were SURE of, just didn't work out like you had figured?

I don't believe we are post-peak but I will play along.

One of my biggest surprises is the 78% rise in the S&P 500. I practice dollar cost averaging so it has been a great run.

I'm really surprised, having read this thread, that Canadian oil production has peaked. Everything I have read, even at the oil drum, shows their peak many, many years away. 8O Unless the referred peak was for conventional oil, then I'm not so surprised.

Thanks Pstarr.

They are in a very odd position, indeed. Reminds me of Iran not being able to refine almost all of their crude and importing refined products.
