I went a bit crazy in the decade just passed. Not because of peak oil but my obsession didn't help.

Things back on track now on a personal level.

It was a very strange decade from 911 to the bank bailouts. Nothing transpired the way I expected it.

I have learned a lot.

this video is my homage to the uh-ohs.

I have had a wonderful decade in almost every way.

But this last one sure as hell wasn't it.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('hillsidedigger', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Revi', '
')The 20th. Century ended at midnight of December 31, 2000.

The way our years are defined, it all started at point Zero with the year One b.c. dating back from that point and the year One a.d. dating forward from that point, so that at the end of the first decade of the First Century a.d. it was the end of the year 10 and it came forward from there.

Actually, the problem is there was no year Zero because the Arabs did not invent Zero until hundreds of years later (along with that "Al Jabr" stuff they tried to teach you in high school). So the first decade started on January 1 of year 1 and ended on December 31 of year 10. Thus the 20th century started on January 1 of year 1901 and ended on December 31 of year 2000. So the first decade of the 21st century started on January 1 of year 2001 and ends on December 31 of year 2010.

So we have another year of Oh-oh's.
Facebook knows you're a dog.

Technically you are right, but when we think of the 70's we think of 1970 until 1979.

That's what you get when you buy a CD called the greatest hits of the 70's.

The 00's will be remembered as lasting from Jan. 1st, 2000 until Dec. 31st 2009.

The decade is actually from 2001 until 2010, but we'll remember Bush's inauguration, 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, the housing bubble and Obama's first year in office when we think of the 00's.
Deep in the mud and slime of things, even there, something sings.
