:) But we all can still dance while the music keeps playing ! Its when the music stops,(i.e. The Fed stops printing money.) the lights go out...............and then we discover someone has disposed of a few of the chairs!

Just remember we are all victims! Yes, sir! That's exactly who we are and what we are, sir. All victims, sir and initiative comes to thems that wait.!

I know things would have been much better with McCain Palin, Alex. I mean, Bush signed Tarp I, but I'm sure McCain Palin would have done the right thing and let the economy crash and burn for the sake of the market having its way. I mean, we all know the republicans hate deficits.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')The line is not likely to make this week's eulogies to Ronald Reagan, but when Vice President Cheney allegedly declared, "Reagan proved deficits don't matter," he summed up an enduring argument from the former president's economic legacy.

Mos didn't you know since Bush left office deficits aren't cool anymore. A true conservative would never borrow money that we don't have. Of course, we never would have financed the Revolutionary War without deficits. But anywho...

No, to the republicans, deficits are okay as long as they go towards the military industrial complex. That's not considered wasteful spending because no price is too high to pay for our national security. Now the welfare state, that's where we need to count our pennies.

But hasn't the military budget continued to grow under O's leadership?

Oh yeah, it has: http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/stock-market-news-story.aspx?storyid=200910271420dowjonesdjonline000464&title=obama-to-sign-pentagons-680-billion-2010-defense-budget

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

President Barack Obama intends to sign the fiscal 2010 defense budget, approving about $680 billion in spending to purchase supplies, pay troop salaries and maintain oversea bases, the White House said Tuesday.

Obama will sign the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act on Wednesday afternoon during a ceremony at the White House Rose Garden. In addition to $ 550.2 billion for the Department of Defense and the national security programs of the Department of Energy, Congress also authorized $130 billion to support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And this: http://budgetinsight.wordpress.com/

Senate OKs defense bill, 68-29
The Senate on Thursday sent the massive 2010 Pentagon policy bill to the president's desk for signing. The Senate approved the bill authorizing $680 billion in defense spending by a vote of 68-29.

The DEMOCRATIC MAJORITY in the senate.

Doesn't that make you feel all warm, fuzzy, and anti-war inside?

Where's that change again? Wall St is real happy with his performance as are the big investment banks.

Joe 6 pack? Not so much.

Obama=McCain=Bush. Wake the hell up why don't you partisans? Different rhetoric is not change we can believe in. Surging troops into Afghanistan, renewing the Patriot Act, and extending immunity to the Telecoms are all things the Republicans like, and Obama gave them what they wanted.

What's the problem? R's and D's are getting more of what they love the most: WAR and BIGGER GOVERNMENT

Well Americans start early to teach their kids (=children, not baby goats) that BLACKMAIL IS ACCEPTABLE.

Why do they get upset when the banks do the same?

Halloween 2010

Postby neocone » Tue 03 Nov 2009, 20:16:13

Grrrr missed my chance last week...

I will dress up as a Peak Oil priest next year... since a lot of people in denial of hydrocarbon depletion view it as a "Cult"...

Any ideas?

Awesome! You just nailed my costume for next year.

Lots of good ideas - have a chain of mini-55 gallon drums hanging from your body. Dress as a ghost - the ghost of an Oil Age Past. Have images/pictures of hummers, fat people, fat people in hummers, giant plastic yard toys, shrink wrapped food, and so on hanging from a sickle like the grim reaper. Have a gas hose hanging from your pants, just to be crude. Put the words "Tar Sands" across your ass.

And, of course, have the oil production bell curve on your forehead.

Sweet.
