The thing with this recent unpleasantness at the town halls is.. I mean I've been to a lot of public meetings with local elected people and things often get heated, even rancorous. Usually about property taxes, or around here the 'car' people object to what they perceive is an infringment on their freedom from narrowing intersections or charging more for parking meters. But, the group chanting like the sheep in 1984 is really out of place, IMO. Not that it isn't interesting, even entertaining to watch from afar but I'd be pissed if I gave up a night at the pub to attend some meeting to grill my elected official and a bunch of people showed up just to drown everyone out.

I think its really funny how stupid everyone is to be fighting among themselves in liberalism vs conservatism.

Truth be told, the elite in this country, no matter what beliefs they claim to espouse, have sold us out, and continue to sell us out. It is like a family arguing among themselves at the dining room table while thieves climb in through the windows and steal all the jewelry and TVs.

The only solution is coming down the road in X years (I'm not Nostradamus). In the future, things will be so shitty that all the politicians that are pillaging our country and selling us out won't be able to restrain the people. It will reach the point where even a mercenary force raining bullets into a crowd and mowing them down by the hundreds won't stop the crowd until they get their hands around the politicans and beat their traitorous, gray-haired, double-chinned heads to a pulp.

Until them, I'm going to sit with a bowl of popcorn and watch the idiots fight over this -ism and that -ism.

Simple solution to some peeps trying to drown people out instead of being polite. Politely ask them to shut up, and if they don't comply, unleash pepper spray into their faces and pull out a nice 31" extendible steel baton and break their kneecaps. 3 good hits, one in the groin, one in the face, and one in the kneecaps would make the rudest person shut up.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AlexdeLarge', 'Y')awn. I must admit I post alot about "The One". ( The MSM does not cover the story so I post it here. A magnificent obsession.) BHO's background was ignored during the election and now the truth of who he is becoming clear to everyone. Even those who support him can now only say "McCain wouldn't have been any better", or that his distractors are "Racists". But that label has lost its sting, used too much in his defense. When everything is racist, nothing is racist.

But eyes are opening. His popularity is dropping like a rock, his direction on the economy will be a disaster........but he is nobody's fool. He has a different agenda. Over the next four years you will discover, the change you hoped for will not be the change you get.

One party rule now. No checks and balances. So let be written, so let it be done.......without even reading the bill. (Or get to the voting booths and put an end to his reign at the next election.)

If you're tired of anti-Obama people, I would really suggest that you put Alex and PA on ignore. You'll save yourself either frustration or moving past their ridiculous, pointless posts.

I dont mind other opinions and won't be blocking anyone, however it would be nice if we were to focus less on partisan politics and more on energy issues. Both parties should spare us the moronic partisan drivel as neither one has any more foresight than pleasing their cooperate masters and winning the next election.

Contrary to the White House spin opposition is not partisan. The movement against the current Democratic leadership's plans is not lead by the GOP.
(The Republicans are defeated and in disarray) It is lead by a grass roots movement of conservatives and libertarians who oppose both parties, but are very strongly against Obama's socialistic ambitions.

So can those who support the administration, Debate those who oppose Obama with these two caveats ?

1. Opposition does not equate to racism.
2. The straw man argument of "McCain would not be any better."

So far evidence on this board is nay........................................

the first wouldn't be a problem, if you weren't so obviously racist, but you are. and thus belies our problem with your tactics.

I don't know of any actual Obama supporters claiming the only reason they are supporting Obama is because McCain wouldn't be any better. Those who supported Obama still support Obama. Those who support bringing back tree hanging nooses for uppity Negroes like to claim this on the other hand.

Are you paying attention now?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')arack Obama told a crowd of supporters in Philadelphia back in 2008, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” He added, “That’s the Chicago way.”

Last night in St. Louis, Missouri, a local conservative found out firsthand about the “Chicago way.” Kenneth Gladney, a black conservative from the city, was handing out “Don’t Tread On Me” flags after a Russ Carnahan town hall meeting on health care in Mehlville. This didn’t go over well with the Obama supporters and union thugs who attended the meeting. They punched him in the face, kicked him in the head, and stomped on him on the pavement. So much for hope and change.

After the event, things got really out of control. The SEIU members were looking for trouble. They roamed the parking lot like a pack of thugs. Conservative Kenneth Gladney, who is black, was passing out “Don’t Tread on Me” flags and tea party buttons to the taxpayers at the school. Unfortunately for Kenneth, the SEIU members were not happy that a black man was passing out tea party buttons. Kenneth’s lawyer described what happened next:

The SEIU member used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face. Kenneth fell to the ground. Another SEIU member yelled racial epithets at Kenneth as he kicked him in the head and back. Kenneth was also brutally attacked by one other male SEIU member and an unidentified woman. The three men were clearly SEIU members, as they were wearing T-shirts with the SEIU logo.
