$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AAA', 'G')reat bump Shannymara!
I am rooting for the peak but want it to come in about 10+ years. That way I have time to get things in order.
AAA, that's awful and terrible and self-centered..
and I couldn't agree more!
Give me ten good years so that I can pay-off the farm/house and get my pantry stockpile where I want it.
Of course, the pessimist in me doesn't think we have that long. Maybe five good years resembling some sort of declining "normalcy" - that's my best guess. Enough for me to have everything built, but some debt will be outstanding. Maybe I'll get lucky and the collection agencies & government won't be financially/logistically able to forcibly collect from me (and millions of other debtors).
As far as wanting the peak to occur, from a non-personal perspective.. it seems like a necessary evil. This way of life cannot be sustained, and I can imagine worse mechanisms for the human race's population drawdown. Still, I waver; the transition from 20th century lifestyle to powerdown is going to be
the story of mankind for the next few centuries, and much of this story is going to be absolutely horrible.
Just gimme ten years. Gotta pay-off those solar panels and buy some spare parts for my household devices..
