Pick up a history book, every president in times of war has done similar, we interned Americans randomly in WW2, we passed laws in WW1 antisedition laws, Lincoln suspended hab. corpus. Nothing will happen other than some libs stroke themselves and cry foul. Obama continues with many of the same anticonstitution issues. So what.

Well, both administrations were chock full of Council on Foreign Relations members. Dick Cheney used to be chairperson of the CFR. The CFR was formed after World War 1 by the progeny of the 19th century robber barons, in response to the US Senate voting down joining the League of Nations.

Exactly what I was thinking!! Liberals not only supported, but they demanded these policies! Now that the dems are in power we see them institutionalized. Especially war, deficit spending, and lying to achieve your goals and I'm talking about excesses of HS here too.

First of all, not all dems are liberal.
Second, it wasn't in the interest of BOTH republicans and dems to kick Bush out.
Hating liberals is easy isn't it? I'm sure they would be happy to take back child-labor laws, women vote, racial equality, workers rights, anti-slave laws, etc, etc, etc. ;)
Don't forget, the dems and repubicans of congress are not responsible for what the conservative republican Bush did.
However, congress isn't exactly free of evil either, but it isn't based on political party.

Comeon guys I know you like to dwell... but we are hitting the absurd. Everyone knows that the Bush administration commited thousands of acts of treason, and terrorism. We also know nothing will come of it. Just let it go and stop stressing yourself out over something you have no control over. The more I see you all stressing out, it stresses me out and I don't want to be stressed out. I just want to enjoy these last few years as a free man, so I have some good memories for when everything collapses and I am living on the street selling my body for a few hunks of dried moldy bread.

I say if for two reasons. (1) The only way to settle this issue and prove that Bush committed treason was for the Congress to impeach him and convict him of treason. This never happened. (2) I'm inclined to agree with Fishman above that similar unconstitutional things happen in all wars. For instance, Obama right now is using predators to blow up buildings full of people in Pakistan in the name of the war against terror overseas contingency operation. To my knowledge, the congress has never authorized Obama to use military force and kill evil terrorists (and innocent people nearby) in Pakistan.

You don't know how the US system of government works. Bush couldn't have done anything without the Congress.

It was THE CONGRESS that voted to go to war in Iraq, and it was THE CONGRESS that voted the hundreds of billions of dollars for the war and it was the CONGRESS that abrogated its responsibility to impeach Bush.

Now it is the CONGRESS that is voting more hundreds of billions for Obama's wars, and the CONGRESS that is abrogating its responsiblity to stop Obama from prosecuting a war in Pakistan that THE CONGRESS never authorized.

The belief that some here hold that when Bush sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan it was treason but when Obama sends troops to Iraq and Aghanistan it is wonderful is logically inconsistent at best. :roll:

You may not have read my posts about Obama, then. Obama is a liar and doesn't have the American people's best interests at heart.

Your technique is to create a distraction (first throwing up the Clinton flag, and now Obama) and not deal with the issue as it is presented. That technique of the Bush apologists has been used for at least 6 years now. it's getting a bit old.

We all have to face reality. Bush was president then. Obama is president now.

I think the dems should've stopped the war in Iraq when they took over Congress in 2006 as they promised. Further, I think they should've impeached Bush.

Its easy to bash Bush for doing things in the past but IMHO not mentioning the fact that Obama is doing the same things now doesn't make a lot of sense. :idea:
