$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'S')o do you believe we have reached "Peak People" yet?
I don't know, and I should say my "expertise" is limited to ag production, and by extension, ag economics, everything else I'm just guessing at. But I can't get things to add up, there's something missing in this equation. Production costs are higher than the return from a good portion of production (different lands yield differently), yet all the fundamentals say production should be increasing where it can, because of increasing population, drought, etc
.
To paraphrase Matt Simmons speaking on oil, there's zillions of acres that could produce ag products, but the costs will be prohibitive. At current prices for ag products, I think we'll see declining production.
