The main problem with a representative form of government like the US, is also it's greatest strength. The peaceful transition of power is a non-trivial event not possible for most of human history. The downside of this system is, of course, living with any mistakes you make. The military of any republic including the US is sworn to serve the collective will of the people as expressed through their elected leaders.

What happens if your leaders are knee-jerk reactionaries during 911?

You're gonna get some stupidity based on fear. And you're gonna have to live with that choice another 4 years.

Most of us agree with many of the complaints & ask your understanding, if not your tolerance. We goofed... sorry. We are trying ya know...

I work with the military all the time, and I assure you that the rank & file of America's armed forces are patriots who genuinely believe they serve the public will. If there's any blame to go around, it's us voting citizens who put some of these guys in power, not our military, who should receive the blame.

So... sorry about recent blunders & we promise to keep trying.

We are fighting against the institutional power-brokers and money people ya know... so... a break would be nice. Those guys are tough hombres.

Thank HawkMan our military does what our elected leaders tell 'em, even when it's a bad idea. I'd hate to contemplate what the loss of military controll by the general population would look like.

Ya know who else had a military dictatorship don't ya?

Yeah that's right.

I win.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Many marvel about the miraculous smoothness of the "transition of power."

But when you grasp that the baton is simply being passed between members of a tight group, you see that there is no miracle.

The same thing happens every election.

It is interesting that Obama the individual penetrated the inner circle, no doubt about that. My hat's off to his political cunning.

But now he's one of them, and as a result I predict very little actual "change" will occur.

The clearest signal comes from his position on Afghanistan, but there are many others for those willing to look beyong the pomp and circumstance of the inauguration, the cute little daughters, etc.

I would say rather that he was injected.

I can think of numerous examples that invalidates your "tight group" theory and the best one is Watergate. Why in the hell would Nixon be involved in stealing data from the liberals if they were playing ball together?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Schmuto', '
')There is no other reason for the U.S. to be in Afghan territory, with the possible exception of drug money for Ops.

1. There is no oil in Afghanistan.

2. President Obama has many times presented his reasoning for expanding the war in Afghanistan, and it doesn't have anything to do with "drug money" as you claim:

"We have to understand that the situation is precarious and urgent here in Afghanistan. And I believe this has to be our central focus, the central front, on our battle against terrorism," Barrack Obama said on CBS' "Face the Nation."

+1

Exactly right. I made this same point earlier on the first page of this thread.

The election battle last year between Obama and Hillary and then between Obama and McCain was one of the greatest political dramas this world will ever see, and the economic and political events since then have been incredible.

The election wasn't faked, and neither is the current economic collapse and neither is the handover of power at the US inauguration.

Zionists must hate the Internet!

The best they can hope to do is "ignore"!

At least for now. I'm sure some day soon forums like these and threads like these will be treasonous, hate-inciting, and generally illegal.

Think of Joe Lieberman, the greatest American Zionist - he wants to make public discussion of 911 ala the 911 truth movement a crime in support of terrorism!! I have no doubt that if he had is way, 1/2 or more of us here would be labeled terrorist supporters.

He'll get his way. Give him time.

It's also quite likely that he's not even in the inner circle. His bargain may have been "We'll let you be president, but you'll play by our rules." Rather than a club member, he's just a hired servant for the club.

There's a lot of people out there that would take that bargain. Especially politicians, used car salemen and lawyers.

Just because someone doesn't believe your version of 9/11 truth, doesn't mean they are a Zionist...

This thread has disintegrated, would anyone like me to salvage it?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Schmuto', 'P')lease pass along to them that, despite the successful annihilation of citizens and soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq, my liberty is decidedly ON THE RUN, and, worse, the pace of its demise is accelerating.

Please pass along to them that the real threat to liberty is not towel heads in the sands of the Middle East.

Please pass along to them that even if "terrorists" are among us and seek to harm us, they could only, at best, take out a few thousand of us over the next few years, and, while unfortunate, that is a ZERO threat to American liberty. To MY liberty. Liberty is not predicated on us not dying. Liberty is predicated on us refusing to allow our government to enslave us.

Whew. Wow. You're good. Hats off here.

Wow, I think Mos is onto something here! If we all just ignore one another 100%, we will never have to hear anything that makes us unhappy, uncomfortable, or angry. We will never be challenged to examine our beliefs and either be strengthen in them or emerge from the darkness of them. We will never have to grow as persons.

Congratulations to Mos, who has achieved the summit of his intellectual growth so early -- by settling in a valley where he doesn't have to look around.

Thank you so much for making this important point for us. If we're here to learn and to share various ideas and viewpoints, what's the point of "ignoring" certain posters you may not like and/or disagree with? I like to hear what everyone has to say, even if it ticks me off or makes me do this:  I still wanna know how people feel about things...lol. And it's always a good thing to have your personal ideas and beliefs challenged - that's the whole point of why I spend so much time here in the first place.

Also, there are handy tools such as the scroll button on the typical mouse - for those times I happen upon a pile of garbage, which does happen from time to time around here...hehe. But at least I know it's garbage, as opposed to having it blanked out.

The president is the front man for the "tight group."

Just like the CEO of a corporation, he's expendable. Powerful, but not as powerful as the group itself.

Also, the president is temporary; the "tight group" is forever.

As an American, regardless of your political persuasion or beliefs, if you find you cannot be proud of your Country on this day........you have a serious problem and should consider other abodes.
