Lets assume broader powerdown, complexity falling scenario..

Is it more beneficial to drive to petrol station, wait in line w. nasty people and get whatever gov. pre-approved ration of fuel OR is it much easier and reliable to charge your EV as much you like it during say 3-6hours of electricity supplied during partial blackouts?
Or even bypass the situation completely by using your own small renewable source (wind, microhydro, solar, bio-burner, ..)

I'd vote for the EV option anytime..
