Weird how the nazis seemed to go to most of those countries after the second world war.

You were run out of the UK before the majority of people could read or write.... for the usual usury. We have large Jewish communities here who fit in just fine, they just get on with life not torturing their less well off neighbours.

You could add China, Japan to the list and all countries they haven't lived :) Well in Argentina they had a pogrom or two and they are despised by every second or so.

Back to the topic at hand:

Hamas: Jewish children are now fair game

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')ighting intensified on the northern outskirts of Gaza City yesterday as a Hamas leader warned that the Islamists would kill Jewish children anywhere in the world in revenge for Israel’s devastating assault.

“They have legitimised the murder of their own children by killing the children of Palestine,” Mahmoud Zahar said in a televised broadcast recorded at a secret location. “They have legitimised the killing of their people all over the world by killing our people.”

Mr Zahar made his first appearance since Israel launched its offensive. Dressed in a dark suit, he declared: “Victory is coming, God willing.”

Street battles heating up

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')roops poured into the area and gun battles broke out at close quarters.

Israel continued to defy international calls for a ceasefire with ground forces moving to seize fresh positions within the city limits.

Explosions were heard in factory districts in the east of the city and refugee camps witnessed heavy fighting throughout the day.

The army said it had hit 40 targets in the Gaza Strip including several tunnels and the homes of a number of Hamas officials.

Israel suffered its heaviest loss of life in the campaign so far when three soldiers from its elite Golani Brigade were killed and 24 wounded in northern Gaza when a tank shell hit a building where the infantrymen were resting.

"Three IDF (Israel Defence Forces) soldiers were killed and one critically wounded and an additional three were severely wounded as the result of a tank shell explosion that was fired in error from an IDF tank during an operation" in northern Gaza, the spokesman said.

UN: This is a humanitarian crisis
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')The UN has said that there is an "a worsening and an increasingly alarming" humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

John Holmes, the UN humanitarian chief, told reporters on Monday that officials believed as many as 25 per cent of the 548 people killed in the fighting were civilians and that Gaza's health system, overwhelmed by the more than 2,500 injured, was "increasingly precarious".

"This is, in our view, a humanitarian crisis," Holmes said. "It's very hard for me to see any other way you could describe it, given the conditions in which the population are living."

Holmes added that "cluster munitions are being used", and that it was "a fair presumption" that most of the civilians killed were women and children.

<b>Saudis Unite for Gaza</b>
<i>King Abdullah donates 30 million riyals in emergency Gaza aid</i>

King Abdullah's Campaign for the Relief of the Palestinian People in Gaza has been met with a wave of popular support throughout Saudi Arabia. This campaign was launched as a result of the continuing and unrestrained Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip which has entered its eighth successive day.

This nation-wide relief campaign has set up sites to receive donations and aid in eight Saudi regions including; Riyadh, the Eastern province, Jeddah, Medina, Tabuk, Jizan, Abha, and Al Qasim.

The donation coordinator said "we urge you to be generous to your Palestinian brothers in Gaza who are subjected to the worst genocidal war; God blesses those who helps his brother"

The presence of children at relief sites is also notable, especially as some of them have taken to wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh on their shoulders. Some Saudis also wore the keffiyeh [to demonstrate solidarity with Palestine] at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Sporting Stadium in Riyadh [one of the donation receiving sites]. One of those [wearing the Keffiyeh at the stadium] had wrapped a "shawl" around his shoulders, one side depicted the Saudi flag, and on the other the Al Aqsa mosque [in Jerusalem] under the words "Jerusalem…we are coming!"

<b>Iran and Bahrain Officials Call for Oil as Weapon</b>

An Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander is calling on Islamic countries to use oil as a weapon to end the fighting in Gaza, echoing a similar call days earlier by lawmakers in Bahrain.

The Iranian comments come days after members of Bahrain's lower house of parliament condemned Israeli attacks on Gaza and told the tiny kingdom's foreign minister that "all retaliation options" should remain open to Arab governments.

Lawmakers said Arab states should use economic weapons such as oil and the region's vast investment funds to put pressure on the West to help bring an end to the fighting.

Iran is second only to Saudi Arabia as OPEC's largest exporter. Bahrain, a relatively minor oil producer and not a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, is a key U.S. ally in the Gulf and plays host to the Navy's 5th Fleet.

Arab oil producers most famously used control over oil supplies as a weapon during the 1973 Yom Kippur War between Israel and Arab armies led by Egypt and Syria. Their decision to stop shipments to the U.S. and other allies of Israel preceded a steep spike in the price of oil.

<b>Qatar Slams Israel's Gaza Offensive as 'War Crime'</b>

Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani said Sunday Israel's attack on Gaza amounted to a war crime and renewed calls for an emergency summit of Arab countries.

"Our Arab people in Gaza are subject these days to an unjust aggression which does not differentiate between children, women and old people, and between civilians and fighters,” the Emir said.

"A war launched with such tools and modern weapons at such targets cannot be anything other than a war crime," Al-Thani said in comments aired on Al Jazeera television.

White phosphorus weapons are controversial today because of their potential use against civilians. While the Chemical Weapons Convention does not designate WP as a chemical weapon, various unofficial groups consider it to be one. In recent years, the United States, Israel, Russia, and Argentina have used white phosphorus in combat.

Its use by the US has resulted in considerable controversy (see white phosphorus use in Iraq). Initial field reports from Iraq referred to white phosphorus use against insurgents,[3] but its use was officially denied until November, 2005,[4] when the Pentagon admitted[5] to the use of white phosphorus while stating that its use for producing obscuring smoke is legal and does not violate the Chemical Weapons Convention.[6] A Pentagon spokesman has also admitted that WP "was used as an incendiary weapon against enemy combatants", though not against civilians.[7]

Use of WP against enemy areas in Fallujah were reported as early as April 2004:

The boom kicked dust around the pit as they ran through the drill again and again, sending a mixture of burning white phosphorus and high explosives they call "shake 'n' bake" into a cluster of buildings where insurgents have been spotted all week.[3]

Venable pointed out that WP was effective against enemy forces in covered positions that were protected from high explosives. "One technique is to fire a white phosphorus round into the position because the combined effects of the fire and smoke—and in some case the terror brought about by the explosion on the ground—will drive them out of the holes so that you can kill them with high explosives.[5]

We fired ‘shake and bake’ missions at the insurgents, using WP to flush them out and HE to take them out."[18]

According to a Haaretz article, President of Lebanon Emile Lahoud claimed that phosphorus shells were used against civilians in Lebanon.[21]

Israel "unleashed an artillery bombardment" on Gaza during its invasion after a week of aerial attacks directed against Hamas military targets, in phase II of Operation Cast Lead. Papers have reported that Israel used White Phosphorus shells on urban areas of Gaza during its artillery bombardment to provide a smokescreen which is allowed under International Law.[23][24] However, some fear that it may be used contrary the United Nations Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons of 1980, that bans the use of incendiary weapons against personnel in densely inhabited civilian areas.[25]

<i>Picture where you see muliple white trails from artillery explosions is white phosphorus. Many such picture have been shown recently from Gaza.

White Phosphorus burns when exposed to oxygen. pieces of WP that penetrate the body continue to burn until removed. A scene in the movie "We were Soldiers" shows a soldier cutting burning phosphorus out of another soldiers wounds.</i>

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Cid_Yama', 'W')hile the Chemical Weapons Convention does not designate WP as a chemical weapon, various unofficial groups consider it to be one. In recent years, the United States, Israel, Russia, and Argentina have used white phosphorus in combat

As I understand it, that is not technically correct. Used against personnel, WP is a prohibited Chemical Weapon. The US and others play games by pretending they are using it as an obscurant or anti-material munition. In point of fact, it is intended as an anti-personnel munition and is illegal. What matters in the crimes of nations though, is not legality, but plausible deniability.

Edit: The chemical weapons convention defines a chemical weapon thusly: "Any chemical which through its chemical action on life processes can cause death, temporary incapacitation or permanent harm to humans or animals. This includes all such chemicals, regardless of their origin or of their method of production, and regardless of whether they are produced in facilities, in munitions or elsewhere." There are a list of exempted uses however. Among them is "Military purposes not connected with the use of chemical weapons and not dependent on the use of the toxic properties of chemicals as a method of warfare"

link

Apparently this is another source of discussion is whether WP kills through heat rather than "toxic properties". A rather macabre form of pedantry IMHO.

Of a thousand burning bridges
Sifting through the ashes every day
What we thought would never end

Top 5 Lies About Israel’s Assault on Gaza
by Jeremy R. Hammond / January 3rd, 2009
FONTE:
http://www.dissidentvoice.org/2009/01/t ... out-israel’s-assault-on-gaza/

Lie #1) Israel is only targeting legitimate military sites and is seeking to protect innocent lives. Israel never targets civilians.

The Gaza Strip is one of the most densely populated pieces of property in the world. The presence of militants within a civilian population does not, under international law, deprive that population of their protected status, and hence any assault upon that population under the guise of targeting militants is, in fact, a war crime.

Moreover, the people Israel claims are legitimate targets are members of Hamas, which Israel says is a terrorist organization. Hamas has been responsible for firing rockets into Israel. These rockets are extremely inaccurate and thus, even if Hamas intended to hit military targets within Israel, are indiscriminate by nature. When rockets from Gaza kill Israeli civilians, it is a war crime.

That's all this person has posted about since they recently joined.

I remember the same thing happening when it was Israel vs. Hezbollah instead of Hamas. Some posters appeared out of the woodwork to tell us over and over and over what a terrible, evil, genocidal country Israel is. Once the fighting stopped the users disappeared. They probably don't even know what peak oil is.

I'm getting awfully disappointed with Israel. As was pointed out earlier the genocide I keep hearing about is pathetic. they need to put down those m-16's and get some good old fashioned machete's out.

This worlds not going to depopulate itself.

The fight spreads to Europe

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')ARIS (AP) - Signs are mounting that the conflict in Gaza is starting to spill over into violence in Europe's towns and cities, with assaults against Jews and arson attacks on Jewish congregations in France, Sweden and Britain.

Assailants rammed a burning car into the gates of a synagogue in Toulouse, in southwest France, on Monday night. A Jewish congregation in Helsingborg, in southern Sweden, also was attacked Monday night by someone who "broke a window and threw in something that was burning," said police spokesman Leif Nilsson. Neighbors alerted rescue services before the fire took hold.

Someone also started a blaze outside the premises last week. And on Sunday slogans including "murderers ... You broke the cease-fire" and "don't subject Palestine to ethnic cleansing" were daubed on Israel's embassy in Stockholm.

In Denmark, a 27-year-old Dane born in Lebanon of Palestinian parents is alleged to have injured two young Israelis last week, opening fire with a handgun in a shooting that police suspect could be linked to the Gaza crisis.

France has Western Europe's largest Jewish and Muslim communities and a history of anti-Semitic violence flaring when tensions in the Middle East are high. In 2002, some 2,300 Jews left France for Israel because they felt unsafe.

I don't understand the question.

Many Palestinians landed in Lebanon. I assume it is possible to become a naturalized Danish citizen or if he was born there he may be a natural citizen.

But perhaps there is a subtext to your question that I am too obtuse to discern?
