That guy who shot himself invited me over to his house one time. It was a lovely evening. I didn't know him until high school but I knew his wife from elementary school days when we were little kids. I drew a portrait of his pretty little daughter and she quickly spirited it away as if was precious. Her dad and I played chess. So sad. Another friend of mine told me that he was beaten and abused as a child. The suicide told me that his lungs were shot from sniffing gasoline. He caught his wife cheating on him and I guess that put him over the edge. He went to the Electricians Union Hall to do the deed.

.
My choice for Torture Music would be anything by The Carpenters :(
Ditto for Christian Rock. :(
I love S&G's The Boxer and Simon's American Tune.
IMO it could be our new national anthem
and Dylan's Idiot Wind the new Star Spangled Banner.

And a Simon and Garfunkel 8 track tape was playing at the Union Hall.

No no no... you've all got it wrong... *I* know the absolute most atrocious torture music of all time, and here's proof: It even kills Martians!

(Sorry you have to wait until 6:45 into the clip before it's unveiled, but it's the best I could find...)

Nine Inch Nails - Furious Songs Are Used For Torture

Postby Cid_Yama » Fri 19 Dec 2008, 00:24:50

NINE INCH NAILS rocker TRENT REZNOR is fuming after discovering the band's music has been used by the U.S. military to torture enemy soldiers.
Britain's Musicians Union recently launched a campaign to stop armies around the world from using British music as a means of torture.
And Reznor is horrified to think of his art being used in such a way.
He writes online, "It's difficult for me to imagine anything more profoundly insulting, demeaning and enraging than discovering music you've put your heart and soul into creating has been used for purposes of torture.

Oh my. He's mad. I'm sure the US military is trying to be more sensitive to peoples feelings these days and will probably now quit playing NIN music during torture sessions and play something else.

It would be the courteous course of action. :)

I would be thanking the guards for some NIN playing over the loud speakers.
If they were playing that rap gangster crap. Now that would be torture!

Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't the Carpenters be far more effective?

So he thinks everybody has to like his music? IMHO, if he writes bad music, he doens't have any right to complain that some people find his music literally to be torture. :)

It sounds like we'll need an End User License Agreement to open and play CD's. Buried in there will be the restriction against forcing someone to listen to the song.

People can and have been sued for having playing music in the workplace without a license from the music industry, yet we allow this?

You could even stipulate a license price for such use. Say $10,000 per use. Of course, good luck trying to sue the army.

Spanish Inquisition into Bush Administration Torture

Postby Cid_Yama » Mon 30 Mar 2009, 23:26:56

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') high-level Spanish court has taken the first steps toward opening a criminal investigation against six former Bush administration officials, including former attorney general Alberto R. Gonzales, on whether they violated international law by providing a legalistic framework to justify the use of torture of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, an official close to the case said.

The case was sent to the prosecutor's office for review by Baltasar Garzon, the crusading investigative judge who ordered the arrest of the former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. The official said that it was "highly probable" that the case would go forward and that it could lead to arrest warrants.

How long did Pinochet evaid justice? Did they ever lock him up? I can't remeber him getting more than a headache and sick stomache as punishment for his hideous deeds. How many Governments helped him evade justice for how long?
These guys, if ever prosecuted will be just the same; fat cat lawyers galore will fight for them while they sail around in their billionaire friends mega yachts. This is where street level corruption shows itself at the very top of society.

"Douglas Feith, a key adviser in former president George W Bush's Pentagon, told Fox News that moves before a Spanish court to indict him for facilitating torture were an effort to "intimidate US government officials."
