The posting is a tough habit to break.

The prepping is a tough habit to make.

Good Luck.

It's okay, Narz. You can learn to post less. In fact, I've taken breaks from forums more than once. I'm actually at an all time low in participation/posting. I still do check-up on forums that I mod daily, but don't feel pressured to be involved so much anymore, unless it's needed. They also know that I'm back in school, with 5 kids and have a full plate, ATM.

I didn't post at all anywhere until 2002. My brother used to post at an Internet forum in the late 90's and I thought the idea was rather odd (talking to random people online that you'll never meet). It's filling a void in my life. When I don't need it anymore I'll be scarce.

Dang Narz. You're busy!

In four years I'm 3.3 posts per day average here...

4738 total postings.

A few hundred from long ago at a now closed motorcycle board.

And zero elsewhere.

And very busy getting ready for chaos... which I hope will not arrive soon.

I am with you Loki. I have also tried to encourage some of these survival wannabee keyboard junkies to get back to doing what they write about and get phyco help for their addiction to blogging.

See how many found the time to take the bait ha ha ha.

Nothing better to do either...how pathetic.

The world of prepping/sudo/survivalist people is 98% jaw jackers and that is the truth.

This little comment of mine will for sure draw them all out again make their little minded remarks.

No problem.

Our group is at the level now we are finding it harder and harder to make room for year four supplies. It has been a little foggy out the last few days so we can not practice with our long range night vision magnifiers. Bummer as it sure is nice to see animals several hundred yards away in the dark.

What...you don’t even have a full years worth of food? You are counting on using other peoples and exchanging your good looks and charm for it? You don’t have top end night vision? You don’t need it? You just plan on sleeping at night? You have time to blog about it...but don’t have it? Get a second or third job and get it and your own food...fool.

The other guy will sure have night vision as the stuff is sold everywhere even on Ebay. Predators love the cover of darkness.....

Take care Loki...........

Got my Night rifle scope off ebay. Actually mounted it and rough sighted it last night. Glad the neighbors didn't see me walking aroung the yard with the gun. I did try to look in their windows though.

Night vision is a requirment!

Good Job. Most so called preppers have their head up their arse on this subject. Even then.... it is dark up there and they could still use night vision.

Look into head gear. It gives you more movement and choice of day/night optics weapons as well.

Regardles you did well.

Would you still feel that way if you were one of his neighbors and you saw him in his survivalist fatigues aiming at you with a night vision rifle?

Now, I have a question... Does night vision have any kind of light that other people could see? I'm asking because when I first bought this house... There was this green light that would always shine into the window and move with me when I walked around at night. But only when my daughters or I were upstairs hallway where there's a large window.

I don't know what it was to this day. Oh and it stopped when the guy across the street lost his home.

Oh, I think I knew that guy... His name was Kent... Clark Kent. I hear he moved back to his home town of Krypton when he lost his house due to losing his job at The Daily Planet after they downsized. He was an odd bird.

Well that was very helpful. NOT. Good imagination though.

It might have been a laser light or a site on a gun, it was small, but I could see it shine on me. I really don't know. And, it has always bothered me.

Next, I'm getting something made to cover that window... That's what I want for my birthday and it's conveniently right after x-mas.

somewhere in the back of my brain I remember something about nightvision cameras that included infrared lights to help brighten things up. I seriously doubt that any weapons nightvision setups would use this type of setup since you'd glow to anyone else with night vision.

OK Quick update. Night vision can have and often does have IR Infared assist. Invisable to the naked eye...but looks like high beams on you when you also have night vision on looking back. It is to be used only when in ...like a basement or cave where there is NO ambient light and the night vision is not all that good. Turn it on (IR) and the night vision comes to life. But it also gives away your position to others using night vision. Understand?

It reflects back when looking outside from your location via a window...so keep it off. It's effective range is only a hundred feet or so. Plus one can install an IR lense covers over certain flashlights to help enable night vision in real dark areas. Still not seen by the naked eye.

To the fool wonder if what I or someone might do watching me or someone aiming a rifle at them with night vision.... think about it.

No one uses a night vision rifle or even night vision if... there are steet lights on, house lights or any un-natural lights. Thus why would he be using it and if... it was truly dark outside...how would the neighbor even see the guy with the night vision rifle ...without night vision himself.....

OK. So, I kept night lights on, so I don't kill myself falling down the stairs in our new home. And someone with binoculars looking into my house has a laser light just to say welcome to the neighborhood. What a weirdo. :)

Sorry, just a little humor... admittedly, very little. But, if the guy across the street creeped you out, then I am glad for you that he is gone now.
