$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Quinny', 'I')'ve been both sides of the fence as a Regional rep for my Lecturers Union and as an employer of both unionised and non-unionised labour.

As an employee, I personally didn't earn as much in the unionised places I worked, but the general pay & conditions were better.

As an employer I found it much more productive dealing with a structured unionised labour force than non-unionised where petty politics continually raised it's head. We had a dispute in one of my companies (non-unionised) with a woman who was basically a professional tribunal attendee. Her union rep, who incidentally I didn't have a relationship with as he only had two members in the company, was the voice of reason and basically tried to persuade her to see sense and stop the action. His nn appearance at the tribuanl saved us thousands.

Unions use force , or any means for a certain end.
This is totally evil.
If you join a union you will be responsible for force practice to extort better py, this is why we cannot compete in the markets.

Unions are why america lost out to the world markets WHERE THERE ARE NO UNIONS.

Unions killed us.

I tend to be somewhat pro-union because my husband is a member of one (Screen Actors Guild) and benefits from it. But it does tend to benefit the more profitable actors more. I don't think he was ever harmed by being in the union.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('vision-master', 'W')hy would a "blue collar" worker vote McCain? Repubs are anti-union.

Leaving the union question out of it as you have already chewed that bone down to the white. A blue collar worker might vote McCain because he knows that if you increase government spending on new programs and give 95% of people a tax cut it will add up to a huge bill to pay plus interest and Blue Collar America will be the one they send the bill to sometime down the road. :(

Somebody pointed out to me yesterday that Obama has the same lead of McCain that he had over Hillary in states where she won handily.

Therefor, I wouldn't trust these polls for a thing. They were wrong 6 to 9 months ago and they are still using the same methods. The Bradley/Wilder/Obama effect is very significant.

He was a puppeteer,off-camera, but hasn't worked as one for over a decade. He wanted to move away from Los Angeles. But he still gets residual checks from his work lo those many years ago. Thanks to the union. :)

Tomorrow will start another round of whinning and bitching. This is getting real old and becoming over whelmed by political nonsense. Are all web forums posters the same breed?

Praise the Lord that after tomorrow we will be free of these 24/7 ads on TV and Radio for the candidates and issues for at least a year or so.
