*hugz*

Oil just freaking dropped below $80. By all rights, and in normal times, we should be quite happy that oil is falling and so should gasoline - and diesel - and jet fuel.

But these are *not* normal times, it does look like a freaking big crash all around, and I'm pretty damned spooked by it all too.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('smallpoxgirl', 'A')nybody else?

I'm so scared I can barely function. For years I've felt like a loon with all my dire predictions for the future. Now it's all starting to happen. I was much happier being the paranoid loon.

Mama cur use to observe that we are stronger than we think we are. We think we cannot live without someone when they die, yet somehow we are stronger. When we get into the thing, it is not as scary as the thought of the thing. Right now those seem like empty words and I am slow to utter them, thinking they might sound condescending... but they have proven them self true to me.

But we all need hugs now and again, regardless of what we know or think we know.

I'm less worried now than I was a year ago. Dunno why, I'm just not. I was overly caught up in all this doomer shit a year ago. I just don't think things are going to go down that fast anymore. I'm glad for this financial collapse. It will slow down resource depleation & wake people up.

I'd give you a hug if I knew you. Those sentiments will have to do for now in lieu of the real thing.

Hugs to you SPG.

I'm fairly sanguine (though I have slapped myself mentally to stay awake)

I think because I've seen riots on TV, mortgage rates over 20% and NO gas in the '70s, relatives lose their homes because of negative amortization loans in the '80s, friends and relatives lose their jobs to off-shoring in the '90s, friends and relatives lose their life savings in the dot-bust and all their imagined home equity in the '00s.

This too will pass.

Do something you enjoy doing. Take a break. Fretting is just a waste of emotional energy and wears you down. It makes you LESS prepared for any challenge which might crop up in your immediate future.

I don't know you as well as some on here, but I was only just thinking today about how resilient the heavy posters/mods are on here. Going by your responses to my posts and some of the other posters, it sounds like you may have been in the denial stage for some time as to how bad things really are and that anxiety may have been welling up in you for some time which you have been trying to supress. You need to take time out from this forum and limit your news intake, better still, turn off the fekking P.C for a few days! Go out this wknd and socialise, have a few beers and then some more, then go and shag your man/girl/both silly and finish off with a 5 mile hike in the wilderness :)

Don't forget, this is mostly a doomers forum. And we'll still be here when you come back

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGS!!!!

My family is really big on hugs all the time, they work wonders.

You need to connect physically with friends and loved ones and draw on their love.

Go find them and hug them!

You need to do this.

Stay away from here for a few days.

And go and do things you love, whatever they may be.

I don't know you that well but I have enjoyed a number of your threads so *hugs* for you smallpox. Light lots of candles and turn off the lights! I was feeling very down an hour ago before I did that. I think the 4 bottles of beer helped too

Thanks everybody! I'm done freaking out now I think. I'm completely exhausted after watching the DOW today.

Big hugs back to all of you. I wish I could cook you all a nice meal, kick back, drink a beer, and chat in real life. Be well everyone.

Cook a nice meal, dine with your RL friends, kick back, drink a beer and chat.

BIG FAT HUG FOR SPG.....

But what you really need is: Drawing (very large)

When I feel an anxiety attack take hold I have found that 100-200mg 5-HTP helps. At least it works for me.
