He had committed--would have committed, even if he had never set pen to paper--the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thoughtcrime, they called it. Well, if That doesn't work, the TSA will just keep trying to come up with new ideas to keep us from flying. :)

My theory is that the TSA is an effective oil-demand-destruction device instituted by the Feds.

No doubt it'll soon be broadened to include similar checkpoints at highway tollbooths.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('jbrovont', 'W')e're probably all on the "watch list" just for being here. Even lurking here too long will probably get you on it. Being exposed to this kind of information is just down right dangerous!

Interesting story, It makes you decide quickly what countries not to visit...
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')t JFK Airport, Denying Basic Rights Is Just Another Day at the Office

I was recently stopped by Homeland Security as I was returning from a trip to Syria. What I saw in the hours that followed shocked and disturbed me. By Emily Feder
21/08/08 "AlterNet" -- - I arrived at JFK Airport two weeks ago after a short vacation to Syria and presented my American passport for re-entry to the United States. After 28 hours of traveling, I had settled into a hazy awareness that this was the last, most familiar leg of a long journey. I exchanged friendly words with the Homeland Security official who was recording my name in his computer. He scrolled through my passport, and when his thumb rested on my Syrian visa, he paused. Jerking toward the door of his glass-enclosed booth, he slid my passport into a dingy green plastic folder and walked down the hallway, motioning for me to follow with a flick of his wrist. Where was he taking me, I asked him. "You'll find out," he said.

TSA Follies: New Uniforms, Badges For Republican Convention

While taxpayers cut back on their spending in the deepening depression, TSA upgrades their trick-or-treat-through-your-laptop costumes to policeman blue.

TSA Follies: TSA Damages Aircraft, Threatens Airline

Unread postby mattduke » Sun 24 Aug 2008, 01:26:56

TSA damages the airlines private property, then turns around and threatens to fine the airline when they insist upon their diligence. Fortunately, the airlines discovered the damage caused by the TSA and averted potential danger to their customers.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he airline said in a statement it is "confident that it followed all proper security procedures for securing aircraft overnight," and that if they'd gone un-noticed the actions of the inspector "could have jeopardized the safety of our customers and crew."

Be wary of the "exalted ones," for they will test you. As you have seen, they can do no wrong. If some tragedy comes out of your failing these tests, it will be but a sacrifice on your alter.

When the democrats in Congress passed the bills authorizing and paying for the new uniforms and badges for TSA, did the democrats specify they would only be used at the Republican convention?

Maybe they should also borrow a play from the private sector and change consider a name change to overcome their image problems.

Time Warner = BriteHouse

Anderson Consulting = Accenture

Air Tran = ValueJet

TSA = ??? [They should hire one of those fancy naming companies to figure this one out]

Congress authorizes the funding for TSA, but the administrator, Kip Hawley decided that new uniforms were the ticket.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')resident Bush nominated Kip Hawley to be Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration on May 6, 2005 and he was sworn in on July 27, 2005. In this role Hawley has carried out Secretary Chertoff's risk-based approach to security in the transportation sector
.

This is all part of Chertoff's risk-based approach. They were in risk of a fashion faux pas and this headed that off.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')s part of TSA's continued efforts to transition the workforce to a cadre of well-trained, professional transportation security officers, uniforms more reflective of the critical nature of their work and of the high standards they must uphold will be introduced in the fall.

Ummm....yeah. I think I'm hardly the first to point out the obvious comparisons between the nazis and the Department of Fatherland Security.
