$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Plantagenet', 'T')he National Enquirer continues its muck-racking expose of the sordid secret sexual world of Sen. John Edwards and his shocking neglect of his love-child
Edward's mistress tells all to the National EnquirerI like the part where John Edwards promised the blonde "party-girl" they'd be together as soon as his wife (ol' chubby Elizabeth) corked off from her cancer.
Edwards and his wife likely haven't had sex for a few years, due to the cancer, and the fact that she is older and maybe not particularly sexual. It HAPPENS. Put yourself in his shoes, instead of being so darned puritanical. He can still love and be a devoted partner while having sex and friendship and even a loving relationship with another woman.
What the hell is wrong with people? Most married couples are tied together by mutual desparation, neurotic need, childish fantasy about romance. Marriage is an institution that should be looked at seriously, not through ridiculous outmoded moral notions that simply shackle people together, insisting on sexual exclusivity, even if no sex is happening. Having affairs, in this case, is GOOD for people as long as children aren't affected and the home remains intact.
LOVE, DESIRE, LOYALTY in marriage? Maybe if you're lucky. What freaking bull, otherwise. You want married couples to be forced to play out some stupid role right out of Harlequin romance? Get over it.
