Mower, try sending the naysayers to this post on the Yahoo Energy Resources forum:

This is the US Department of Energy itself being told by its own hired consultants that Peak Oil is real and happening. Or just send them to the forum:

They don't even have to register unless they want to post, but there's a wealth of information about the current and future situation. Hey, even the TV show Alias mentioned it in a scene last night. You can try sending them to
www.dieoff.com, but the name alone puts off so many people that I hesitate to send newbies there. There's also:
http://www.asponews.org
That's the Association for the Study of Peak Oil. Their most recent newsletter, #51, can be found there with the DOE report in it along with a very nice graph that shows the peaking scenario.
The bottom line, though, is that trying to convince people who don't want to look at the facts is pretty frustrating and ultimately a waste of time.
BTW, has it occurred to you that the illustration you use as part of your signature line over there might not go over too well with the female posters? That might have more of an effect on your credibility than anything we can offer.
