With 4th Edition coming out soon, I thought I'd blow the dust off the real deal. It doesnt get any better then first edition with a few house rules on top.

Brings back memories. I recognize almost all of the hardbacks and modules as I used to own them. I started buying D&D products from 1981 until some time after Second Edition came out.

Unfortunately, I had to get rid of my collection when I moved about 8 years ago.

In high school I carried a briefcase, wore a corduroy suit-3 piece, but only on the days we had chess matches with other schools. (State Champs 3 years in a row!) I think the only girl in school who did not slap me finally did just after graduation. I weighed 135 pounds soaking wet, on a 6' frame. I was such a geek, the other geeks beat me up. Alcohol? Hmmffp, it no good for you. There was no such thing as lunch money.

College changed things in a lot of ways.

I still have most of those books, although some of them technically belong to my childhood friend. Good times. RIP Gary Gygax.

My favorite book was the Dungeoneer's Survival Guide, which had this full page sketch of these scantily clad cuties unsuspectingly about to get chomped by this way big ass monster. Dork porn!

I've given some thought to investing some money in a first edition set. They're available on eBay pretty much all the time... might be fun for my kids.

I have a couple of the new books but they just don't have the same feel as the old stuff.

GG failed his saving throw, but we'll roll him up a new character soon.

Never liked third edition rules. Always played second edition games.

How come you have two Monster Manuals? One of them looks pretty trashed. I left my Fiend Folio out in the rain at my grandmother's house and had to replace it, but I didn't keep the trashed one.

I have a huge collection of gameing books sitting around collecting dust, its so dang hard to find a group of people to play those games anymore that are not on a diffrent scedule then me. Nice collection BTW.
