$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('threadbear', 'I') think Peak Oil forums should have a thread that reports profanity and fines the offenders. This idea has been enshrined by the august body of Warner Bros, actually.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4YYRhykxTs"Reporting" AKA ratting out...will become staple moving into a collapsed starving world...
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he forum will have one day a week, on average, where during market hours non-donors will not have access to other than a few selected areas.
I will randomly pick these days, and they will tilt towards high-volatility or "high beta" days in the market.
Note that "Presentations" was in fact exempt during the last lockdown, and will be in future ones, as will be "Ticks". You will be able to sign in but attempting to actually go anywhere except in the "open" areas will fail with an error message.
Attempting to get around this policy by sending in a penny donation or similar will not work - during the last lockdown I immediately refunded any donation that has a net negative benefit, which very small donations do as a consequence of processing costs (that I do not receive) and will do so in the future. In the future, since you have now been warned, such attempts will also result in a permanent ban on your account.
Therefore, if you really are a supporter, you will not be impacted by these lockdowns. If you are not, you will still have access, but outside of market hours on those days.
If you're a loudmouth troublemaker, and you know who you are, you will find that as the subscriber base and traffic levels grow I will and have become increasingly intolerant of this sort of activity.
Further, the last lockdown discovered a sock puppet who had been previously banned but came back on another ID and then tried to donate to throw me off the trail. Unfortunately that gambit was discovered in the lockdown and his donation was returned, followed immediately by the second ID being banned. Don't try it - that is, under federal law, illegal (see the recent case in which the lady who created a fake Myspace profile and allegedly harassed a teen who subsequently committed suicide is now under indictment for violating the terms of service of MySpace which prohibits the sort of "sock puppet" games as well),
and I will vigorously go after those who are here to disrupt rather than engage in discourse. If you are contemplating such an act in the future be advised that the potential exists for that act to turn into - quite literally - "a federal case."This forum is an important resource and I refuse to see it turn into Yahoo. All participants are expected to read the topic guidelines and keep their postings within the boundaries of a particular area of discussion.
Items that have no relavence to the capital markets either fit in "Off Topic", "The Bar" (if of general humor) or should not be posted at all.
Thank you.
