We're slowly waking up to just how intelligent elephants really are. They have enormous brains, you know. Think how much imagination and creativity went into that painting.

Gobsmacked wonder. That's how I feel. How I love elephants, particularly when they clue in that they're actually in control, freak out and go on a rampage, during a circus performance. Most people are so afraid for the people involved...I'm just cheering the elephant on.

Here's great attack footage. The humans are screaming, the elephants are bleating. The bleating translated means, "How many times do we have to tell you fools, we hate being confined. F you!!" Yeay elephants!

There is nothing more dangerous than a wild animal that has been tamed. People mistake taming for the domestication process, which involves the nurturing effects of taming, plus the genetic effects of selecting for docility. Indian elephants are partially domesticated. African elephants are not. They are super dangerous....but cute!

Oh yeah, the paintings good too. I saw a clip on tv once where an elephant had a white cross stuck to its head and when it looked in the mirror it knew where to put its trunk to remove the sticker. In the experiment there were other elephants that could not do this. I suspect many humans lack self awareness too.

I think we all know deep down about the self awareness of elephants. Its what makes George Orwells Shooting an elephant so moving.
