With the UK being once again threatened by winter energy shortfalls, I found myself looking at websites for tips on energy conservation around the home, and chanced upon the Thermoflow/Ecoflow range of products:

These things promise to cut domestic heating bills by 20% - by the simple expedient of strapping magnets around your fuel pipes - thus, they say, increasing fuel efficiency. Being sceptical by nature, I only have to read the word 'magnet' to suspect the worst. But as I'm no scientist - if any techno buff out there wants to explain why this device should be in every home - or, conversely, why the public shouldn't fall for these sort of scams, I'd appreciate the information.
I feel we're going to be seeing a lot of these sort of products before too long.
Must go now . . . I'm working on a pill you pop in your fuel tank to increase auto mileage by 600%.
