Naw bro...

Roccman is it...

I lorde it over Monte.

If Aaron ever made the mistake to tag me with "expert" ...I would abandon roccman and use roccland.

I'm going to add to the chorus of people who've expressed displeasure with the 'expert' designations that have been added. I think that it serves absolutely no purpose in what's supposed to be an open and free (subject to the rules) message board. The only way I would find it acceptable would be if objective criteria required to be classified an expert was posted on the website... With the issue of peak oil I don't even know how you could come up with a reasonable list of criteria.

What criteria are being used for the classification in any case? Based on the people who've been designated it looks to me like the number of posts is the main factor. I see that Petrodollar, who I understand is an author, yet only has less than 400 posts, has not been given this designation.

If the goal is to encourage open discussion and interest in peak oil, the last thing we need is this expert designation. How do you think someone new to this site will react when an 'expert' replies to their post and basically calls them an idiot??

I find it sad that this supposedly progressive group is falling into the same trap of human nature that inevitably seems to occur in any group... that of feeling the need to establish a pecking order, and a group of elites, who one should presumably be reluctant to question the wisdom of.

Spot on.

Expert means squat.

There are a boat load of folk who have not been "tagged" that are light years ahead of JBeckton, AP, PA etc.

Naw..Aaron was bored...got a PM from Airplane Pilot how he was not being given his due respect and the titles flew.

Pathetic.

Folk like Dante, Pup55, ShortonOil, Tanada are expert posters here.

Airplane Pilot, Planetagenet, JB...complete waste of life.

Yep, thank gawd some-one had the courage to point out Monte's nasty little political affiliations and show the way forward for the rest of us (grin).
