i hate this board...it has power over the mind. i bought a can of corned beef today (ok, i bought three) it is not a product of argentina, but of brazil... it is premium quality, it offers not one but two serving suggestions and it comes packed in an 'E-Z open' can.

it has no carbs, and only 6 grams of fat and 120 calories per serving...and then best part? it will wait happily in my basement until at least april of 2010...well past the SHTF arrival date.

heh!

i am thinking this is the perfect post po food product, doncha know! so while you guys and gals are living on cockroaches that are lively enough to run down your throat, pms and i will be living the good life snacking on homel's finest offering!

now i understand it all... canned beef is just a metaphor for my life!!

I ride english saddle as well.

My Dad and I have discussed the possibility of having to use horses in lieu of pickup trucks. That was a very sureal conversation.

btw, I like this talk of horses. Lots of fine memories there. I remember this time when my dad and I were riding way out in the mountains and came across a rattlesnake. The horses freaked. Then there was this time I was riding with my whole family and got separated on the horse I was riding named Pokey. I must have been around 7 years old. Pokey just stood still until they came back to find us. My folks gave me a pony for Christmas once. That was a mean damned pony. Bucked me off several times, even stepped on my crotch after throwing me over his head onto the ground. I hated that pony and we sold it.

Don't I know it! Other horse stories: I was walking behind my Dad's horse Saint when he bucked at me and I caught a horse shoe on both of my hands. Saint could have easily killed me. I lucked out by reflexes I guess. Then there's the horse shit. I had to shovel it as my chore. What a drag that was. But I remember with fondness watching the horse shoe man working.

Corned beef hash is a mixture of dead animals found on roads. The makers of this didnt want to put "road kill" on the can, so they decided on corned beef hash. It has found a market in some places, esp. in Hong Kong where the people will eat almost anything. Also some places in the U.S. where people cant find a fast food terminal open all night long.
