The Dude abides.
Johnson?
Oh...nice marmot!
Aaron's video put me in mind of Bruno Bozzetto's Allegro Non Troppo, which is sort of an adult version of Fantasia. They showed the evolution sequence which uses Bolero on this free Classical video channel a few years back, which led to a deep interest in Ravel's music for me. There's a snippet of it at YouTube but with different music. Fantastic flick, think I'll snap up a copy.
No one here into classic cinema? Any good Bogy flicks, Maltese Falcon Big Sleep African Queen you name it. Howard Hawks made a great flick called His Girl Friday, one of those mile-a-minute dialogue jobs, hilarious. He also supposedly directed the original Thing From Another World, anonymously. Great bit of SF with James Arness (Gunsmoke) as the Thing. The Devil Thumbs a Ride, Kiss Me Deadly, and D.O.A. are some excellent more obscure film noirs.
The short film 12 Monkeys was based on is a great movie: La Jetee. It's almost all still frames, there's a website with it. Fascinating flick, missed a chance to tape it off TCM this year. There's a French comedy called My New Partner that's a scream. Eating Raoul. The Quiet Earth. Bad Lieutenant. My Name is Nobody.
Cripes this subject, I could type for days and not get finished.
