$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Benzin', 'O')h and Texas State Troopers suddenly enforce civil law now?

No change. They have always enforced civil laws. Any police officer can initiate the enforcement process for any law they suspect has been violated. Go read http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/mission.htm

During asset seizure civil procedures are used rather then criminal because they make it easier for the government to take your property. Which cop initiates the process, local, state, or federal, is basically irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks for clearing that up. Not being from Texas, I find it strange they enforce civil law in addition to criminal law. Unless of course there is a court order... different issue.

quote: "I have heard of this law, but over what time period does it extend? Could I just make $9000 withdrawals every day to evade this law."

It may differ from state to state, but I always understood that it was above $9k per transaction, or total per month--that the bank dispensing that amount had to file a report with the fed gov.... Of course, I could be wrong, and just having a senior moment!! lol
