Doctors defrauding Britain's NHS by making false claims

The article says a senior doctor in Britain makes about 47,000 pounds or about 100 k USD per year. That seems like a decent salary, if low by US standards for doctors. On the other hand, I'd guess the cost of living in Britain right now is ca. 25-50% greater then in the US for food, housing, etc.
