$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('dukey', 'u') notice any health improvements from having them removed ?

i know having them removed is risky and can make you ill immediately after if not done properly

I started out with ten and had them removed over three operations in a two month span using two different dentists who specialized in following protocols to minimize exposure. I highly recommend the traditional rubber dam, it creates the best physical barrier and isolation. It feels a little awkward but nothing a little nitrous oxide won't ease.

That said, I accidentally got a couple wiffs of the mercury vapor because I was very nervous about the drilling pain I wasn't focused on my breathing, my first dentist hit my nerve so many times it was pure torture, had me clenched to the chair, hence the second dentist who had no problem successfully anesthetizing me.

Due to a mandatory confidentiality agreement with my dentist, I do not endorse or attribute any medical benefits to the amalgam removal. But I'm happy to report on the psychosomatic effects I experienced from what were purely cosmetic operations. The days immediately following each removal I felt slightly feverish but those imagined symptoms passed quickly. It's been over a month since my last removal, and I have never felt better in my entire life! The oppressive lethargy I grew up and been living with for too long is completely gone. Being healthy was so foreign to me, I never thought I could feel this good. My faith in the amalgam removal placebo must be extremely powerful.

that's really good to hear
after some research i did on mercury a few months ago
I advised my mum to go see a dentist about having hers removed (one that specialises in amalgam removal). She has 10 fillings and one was cracked and leaking a lot of mercury vapour. Shes been ill for like 20+ years with CFS. I really hope she can see some improvement too.

Shes had one appointment (examination) and will probably book another one soon. Amalgam filling removal is fairly expensive it seems. Anyways, I'll let you know how it goes for her if you want :p

Thread, taking your toys and going home? say it aint so!

I am sure she is reffering to me. I am kind of shocked really. Thought your "metal" was a bit tougher than that, truly. I would say the frustration goes both ways really. I would never think about going away though. This forum is too valuable in a lot of other ways. I've never had personal hard feelings from an internet forum. I do hold a bit of a grudge about being called a shill, but I guess it's going to go with the territory I choose to trod.

I don't hold it against you thread, really.

Actually, I bought this health food powder, that turned out to be full of caffeine, in the form of powdered green tea. Allow me to speak in a language you might understand. It was kind of like peak oil and oil corporation manipulation. Neither one is soley responsible for rising prices at the pump. Neither you or the health powder were soley to blame, for my rising blood pressure, but the combination gave me a ripper of a migraine and left me slightly tempermental.

Look, I don't know if you're a shill. Chances are you're wired differently than I am. That's all, Knucklehead

Oh I'm quite sure I'm wired very differently.

I do believe we all are wired differently and some tolerance should arise with the knowledge I should think.

Wow. This really speaks volumes about our civilization that we now air this BS as acceptable. Will I find out next week that smoking and 180 proof liquor on a daily basis is beneficial for my health too? And I suppose the week after that, the AIDS virus will have been found to be a necessary nutrient and not a virus...

True. We also can't give people our own experiences that form our world view. I would bet AP that you are a really good linear thinker with great spatial skills, and likely somewhat extroverted, whereas I have no spatial perception, am unaware of my physical surroundings, in terms of detail, am introverted and rely almost completely on intuition.

So maybe a good rule of thumb is to consider when we communicate with different types that we have actually contacted an alien life form. Because, for all intents and purposes, your planet actually is quite different than the one I occupy.

A very good way to look at it threadbear. I also would caution folks about using forums to communicate in general. Without direct visual stimulation and body language, humans lose a big part of the communication being attempted. I always give the benefit of the doubt when emotions become part of the mix.

By the way, not too shabby an analysis! Not quite perfect, but pretty close. I'm much less of a "linear thinker" than your assuming. I am an extremely visual and hands on type of person.

You may find out one day that the HIV virus is harmless. I saw a pretty convincing argument that it is.

Don't trust the FDA, FTC, or any publicly traded company. Whenever huge sums of money are at stake, err on the side of caution. Human life is cheap these days, increasingly so in the USA.

Yup, so is nuclear radiation. The FDA just told us all so. They are some of the most honest people you could ever meet. I rank them right after the FTA. Dont take any natural herbs though, those are really dangerous. That's why they call it Killer Camomile. Remember those Rose Hips dont lie.

Is this like when they removed Johns wort for sale about 2 years ago citing side effects. We couldn't have people using a natural remedy for the blues which could be purchased very cheapy when we have all those expensive prozac happy pills to keep big pharma going.

These things are POISON, get them out (professionally). Getting them out by a dentist that doesn't know what they are doing can be dangerous to your health, so be warned ;p

Seriousely I have read a lot about this when I was researching lazer vision correction, the anectodal evidence was convincing both pro and con! Is mercury good for you ? Of course not, it's extremely toxic.Last year I had a mercury filling removed that a small cavity had developed under.I had it replaced with white , BIG MISTAKE ! Do you wanna talk about cold and heat sensitivity? After two days of intense pain I demanded that my dentist see me and fix it.He drilled out the white and put in mercury and all's been well since.I'll deal with the slow poisoning.
