Depends on what field you go in. Some design mundane things like thermostats, sprinklers, calculators or refrigirators and/or the components that compose them. Some go into defense and help design weapons to kill brown people with or help build devices to limit the autonomy and privacy of Americans. Some of them become morbidly obese, neoconservative, overly religious scary losers who can't ever get laid and stare at transistor curves all day while debating the merits of x86 verus PPC, usually going into acadamia. Some go into renewable energy and design wind turbines, solar panels, EVs, and/or various components related to them like control systems or battery management systems.
Basically, anything that consumes electricity, chances are an electrical engineer has designed a component of it. Engineers can build a lot of things that could get them into trouble too.
The unnecessary felling of a tree, perhaps the old growth of centuries, seems to me a crime little short of murder. ~Thomas Jefferson
