P.S. So The wicklow mountains are in Cork? I always wondered where tommy Byrne (wolfe tones) was singing of.
The Wicklow mountains are in Wicklow, directly south of Dublin, on the east coast. That's where I'm from. MadPaddy is from Cork, in the southern part of Ireland, which is typically warmer than Wicklow. The fact that neither of us is having rain is very worrying. Cork should be wet alright, but afaik, not as wet as Wicklow.
And you're right - it ain't looking particularly emerald at the moment - one of my fields is distinctly dry and brown. That said, it's doing wonders for my horses feet. The farmers around are a bit unsettled, but most of them rested their grazing over the wet winter, so they do have grass - but there just isn't enough growth at the moment.
The solar pump and hand pump look very good - thanks again for the link UT.
We've tried nothin' and we're all out of ideas.
