$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PenultimateManStanding', '

I see, you have move beyond the primitive forces of evolution...

Anyway I think It's a nice picture.

What if we could arrange ourselves in small, self-sufficient communities and start over?
that would be the best outcome. I've been pondering this situation for years. What about all the dying people?

You know, I'm not the type to go down without giving my best effort. There may be lots of dying people, I don't know. My biggest worry is the people/arable land ratio, and how food will be distributed. I think the best way to do this is by relocalizing - that is, equipping each community with the know-how to provide for the needs of its own people. Currently, there is quite a movement in this direction - more than I thought previously - check out the Post Carbon Institute, there are groups all across North America. It gives me hope.

Well What If? Kevin's death was part of Pam's dream? 20 years ago America accepted this explaination when Bobby died.

If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WildRose', 'I')'m quite sure it's only humans who understand, from a relatively young age, that death will come and that what is beyond life is uncertain, in many cases feared, hard to imagine, etc.

What separates us from animals is a far better understanding of causality ( aka the arrow of time ), THE fundamental, unescapable reality of this universe. From this we derive technology, knowledge of our own death and judgement of good an evil ( since we can compute the beneficial or detrimental consequences of a choice ).

Man eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and was expelled from the garden of eden.
Freedom is up to the length of the chain.
