$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'U')mm, can't they both be true? If a thief breaks into your house, could you not describe him both as a failure and a threat? A failure at his own life and a threat to yours? That's really not a strong arguement you are trying to make, clueless.

A thief breaking into my house starts as a thief.

A hopelessy corrupt system of govt. is simply that and will implode on itself one day, you said it yourself. The "Collapse" was engineered by Multinational Business interests to purchase Soviet Assets for pennies on the dollar. Even you cannot deny Vladimir Putin is pretty much showing the world the tail is now going to wag the dog.

Also for your own edification :
The CIA discovered Russian Oil was at Peak in the 80's (Oh I forgot - Peak Oil or the "peak oil crisis theory" does not exist), and decided to "help the process" along. Sorry my friend, The American Economy which is run by the Military/industrial complex needed an enemy and the poor Russians were a convenient one manufactured by Capser Weingberger, Rumsfield, Cheney and all the ususal suspects for the purpose of "Full Spectrum Domination". We are now seeing the fruits of these idiots right now. There has not been a more corrupt group of politicians in the history of the United States.

You really don't have a clue how things in this world work do you ? You think the UNited States is not a Communist Country ? Get a grip pal.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('oil_rocks', 'j')dmartin, what exactly is it that you believe?? would you clearly state your belief and provide a link or 2 supporting your belief? instead of just making dumb comments and disagreeing with whatever I post. All i said was that the shah of iran ended his life a) in disgrace, b) homeless and c) penniless. Its clearly documented in every historical account of the period. maybe the exact word "penniless" does not show up, but its clear from the reading that he did not leave a wealthy, healthy hero. This is basic, basic stuff man. come on!

The Shah had plenty of money, asswipe. SHOW ME A HISTORICAL ACCOUNT STATING HE WAS PENNILESS, you snot-nosed jackoff. You are full of shit and you know it. Simply posting on a forum that you're not, doesn't make it so. I would bet hands down that you weren't even alive when the Shah died. You are likely a twenty-something jackass that doesn't understand shit about what he's talking about. Plain and simple. You can take the rest of your bullshit and shove it. I'm done talking to you because you don't have a shred of intelligence. Don't bother posting a reply because I've got nothing left to say to you.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')e dared to nationalize his own country's petroleum
.

How dare he - You mean he tried to keep some of his wealth for his own people...You know the old Republican philisophy:

With our technological superiority we can desing build and manufacure anything.

Including an enemy.

I cannot wait to see the likes of Oil_rocks in the midst of an economic upheaval. I noticed he did not refute any of the profiles, so they must be true.

Just another product of the "consumer age"...and Completley unwilling to learn from people who know more than him. He is "one step ahead of the scientists" after all.

Well that is the only truthful sentence in your entire rant. you were wrong on every other thing u said. sorry. but when you say you have nothing intelligent to say, well yes i have to agree with that.

clueless, you continue to make me look like the smart one of the group. I don't think you are doing much of a service to the peak oil cause when u bring up all these senseless wacko theories without a shred of evidence and i quickly debunk them making you look silly. you have a way of mixing your own conspiracy beliefs with historical events as a way of making some sort of irrelevant point. if you have any sort of evidence stronger than, "well everyone knows it" i'd love to see. Otherwise, i'll just have to lump u in with all the other far lefty-wingnuts out there. no hard feelings, you are entitled to believe whatever u want.

Most of the cartoons begin at the beginning of the workday, in which Ralph and Sam go to a meadow where sheep graze, exchange chitchat, and punch into the same time clock. Work having officially begun, Ralph repeatedly tries to abduct the helpless sheep and invariably fails, either through his own ineptitude or the minimal efforts of Sam (who always brutally punishes Ralph for the attempt). At the end-of-the-day whistle, Sam and Ralph punch out their time cards, chat amiably, and leave, presumably only to come back the next day and do it all again.

Thanks ! But unlike you I read and study instead of listening to Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. The really funny thing is you sound just like I did 5 years ago.

Homey don't fall for that right vs. left crap anymore. I am sure this will enable you to label falsely again -But does the saying "divide and conquer" mean anything to you ? DO you think it is a conincidence the country is split right down the middle ?

You are simply ignorant as to how the real world works. There are no "conspiricies" behind my "theories". I used to listen to the same people you do. The truth is most likely always in the middle.

Seriouly take it from a reformed neo-con like myself and read a few of these books and let me know what you think, I would rally value your opinion in them:

Chalmers Johnson (UCSD Prof & Fomer CIA analyst) has three.

F. William Engdahl

Robert Baer

None of these really mention "peak oil" so I am not trying to indoctrinte you into anything, but I would like you to at least read them.

Are you talking about the cartoon where Foghorn Leghorn knows how long the dogchain is and beats the dog with a bat and runs to the line and stops while the dog gets yanked back ??

But in the end the Dog erases the line and moves it back five feet then trashes on Foghorn Leghorn ?

Thanks guys. i have enjoyed this free exchange of ideas. Its kinda funny though. if you look through the past couple of pages, my posts are filled with well reasoned thoughts backed up by links to resources. All of your posts are a bunch of name calling, unfunny jokes and bizzare conspiracy theories devoid of any evidence whatsoever.

any unbiased observer would have to admit that i have clearly won the debate. But thanks for your efforts. you gave it your best shots.

Congrarulations ! I can't wait to read the reviews from your fan club.

Please, make my deay send an unbiased observer over and tell us how clueless we all are.

Seriously oil_rocks, there are some pretty smart people on this board I am just a former used car salesman and many of the guys here are Chemical, Mechanical and those (God forbid) pesky SW Engineers (even though I could be shot for calling them engineers instead of programmers). You can say whatever you want about the people here, but they are not stupid.

If you find this venue improper or unchallenging, go over to the theoildrum.com - The petroleum engineers hang out over there, maybe you could learn something from them.

I truly have enjoyed our debate - We'll see you at the bread line

Gerald Posner NY Times writer wrote a good book called Secret of the Kingdom - This one is single spaced and small type alot of content.

I'll tell you a book not to waste your money on - "The Coming China Wars" by UC Irvine economist Peter Navarro- Don't waste your money, it sounds good, but the guy comes from Oil_rocks camp - The US has every right to global resources and China has deserves nothing. The guy reminds me of Henry Kissinger, If anyone read this book and gleaned something different please tell me - I was very dissapointed.

I don't mind debating you guys, but you aren't putting up a defense or providing any evidence as to your beliefs. Name calling and saying something is true "because everyone knows it" is not very convincing.

I have stated that the shah left disgraced, homeless and penniless, yet some on here are convinced he left as some sort of wealthy hero even though they have yet to provide one ounce of evidence to support it.

I also stated the today’s brightest and greatest scientists are not being fooled today by sadaam hussein, and yet others disagree without being able to explain why. The question I would ask is, "if you, with your lack of expertise, know sadaam is fooling you, why wouldn't the scientists know that he is fooling them?" <-- great question.

I also stated that a country can be both a failure and a threat. and very easily. just because someone or something is stupid does not mean that they can't hurt you. If you really do hold to your statement, then i would like to hear how you would describe the bush administration, since it can only be a failure OR a threat, then it can't be both. so which is it?

As for peak oil, I clearly pointed out that the amount of obtainable oil is tied to the will of the people. This is a fact. Under certain leadership, we would be able to extract more oil than under others. You may think this isn't the case or even wish it wasn't, but sorry it is. So that means you cannot measure the amount of obtainable oil without knowing the will of the people trying to dig it up. So any calculations that omit this variable are not going to be accurate. and any calculation that includes it will not be reliable, since we do not at this time know the full will of the people. (Just pointing out how there are more unknowns than knowns in this science)

I also stated how the price of oil will in fact influence the demand for it, and i've never seen any peak oil theory take that into account. If you have, please send me a link. This idea is common sense, but i provided proof of it by showing that the rate of increase in oil consumption actually dropped in the past couple of years since the price spiked up. This is basics people.

I also pointed out the obvious fact that new technologies will inevitably come up in the next 100 years. So if you start drawing out 100 year projections on paper and simply ASSUME that we will be using the exact same technology 100 years from now, well then your projections are going to be off. that's a fact. how much will they be off? no one knows, but u can be sure they will in fact be off.

so i have clearly stated my beliefs and the reasoning behind them and i'm sure it will be met with a bunch of name calling and witless jokes, so have at it. Maybe your name calling jokes will be even funnier than before. Lets count how many times the word Troll comes up.

One more time for you, asshole:

You present bullshit statements but do not back any of them up with facts. You make shit up, then expect reasonable people to provide refutation of such. You state that the Shah left penniless, yet you cannot provide one shred of truth to it. You are a troll. Moreover, you're an asshole of the Nth degree. Everyone has quit debating you because there's no way to debate shit. Shit is shit. You've gone back and forth so many times on this thread, and everyone has called you out, is the reason this thread has gone 26 pages.

There are other non peak-oil believers on this site. Isn't it interesting how none of them came to your rescue? It is because even they realize you're a 20 year old snotnosed shit jacking off into a tissue, blowing your wad thinking how you've smote all us fools. As the Brits would say, "step off you wanker". You've officially become the first person I have ever placed on my "ignore" list. Congratulations! You've won at something.
