I voted go because I feel most of us attempting to powerdown in the face of gross transnationalfascism are, in a sense, fighting already. Not neccessarily in the traditional sense on traditional battelfields but most suredly in a realm of paradigm opposition. We are fighting not only for our own safety and security but our families, communities and in a broad sense, the human species. I know I will die someday but the human race doesn't neccesarily have to.

Gee! Only 9% at this point voted to "go". Now how are we going to get the population down to a reasonable level with so few volunteering to sacrifice themselves for the common good.

As much as John Carey is offensive to me, I think he had it right in his remark implying the less intelligent winding up in Iraq.

Look at it like this, the enemy might want to do more damage and nukes the cities. Now that will bring the population down.

I wouldn't make very good cannon fodder. I'm partial to thinking for myself and I like both of my legs attached to the rest of my torso.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AWPrime', 'S')ince I am in Europe, I have a larger chance of being invaded. So I voted Go.

However I do not have what it takes to be a frontline soldier, so I would go for weapon development or something like that.

I would go if it was in defence of the EU, but, like you, I don't have what it takes to be a frontline soldier either. (I have some issues with authority and obviously not the only one on this board with that "problem"

Hell no I wouldn't fight for greed leaders intrests. I live in Northern Europe too, but the only reason I would raise a gun against my fellow brothers and sisters would be to defend my closest ones against any immediate threat. I never want to kill anyone and never want to join a war over profits, land, principles or any other cause I consider less valuable than life.

To join US army is to join the biggest conflict causing military based organization in the world. According to my knowledge those forces have only once in the whole history been used to defend the country (Pearl harbor). On the other side US army has launched multiply conflicts all over the world, constantly. That is an army that no self-respecting or truly patriotic man or woman should support.

My worst fears are not poor arabic countries that are struggling with each others, but the mighty and agressive armies of the "superpowers" USA and Russia. They are the only real threats to the world peace at the moment.

Been there, done that. Went on the E ticket ride. Got a 100% service connection for PTSD. Would I go back again if they called me? If they need my ass that bad I'm crazy enough that I would do it.

But I have a fifteen year old son, and I would shoot him in the foot myself if that what it would take should the time ever come to keep them from taking him.
