$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('BILL_THA_PHARMACIZT', '"')The real problem here is that this does not apply to Oil reserves!
"you can't control "peak oil" - you can only control your outlook on life and recognise patterns in the world - and adapt and enjoy the ride. Nuclear war is more of a "threat" to human well being than "peak oil" - if I wanted to sit around worring about shit I can't control all day that would be the first on my list of priorities
If people on this site want to be destitute miserable and paranoid
about everything - then let them.
people like Matt Savinar will continue to get rich off it all
Go Matt!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I am torn between Greg Palasts view and the Matt Savinar view on "peak oil" - but as time goes by I am leaning more and more to the Greg Palast view.
The older you get the more you begin to realise how much human beings infinite creativity extends not only to beauty, art and invention - but the sociopathic propaganda that has rationalised every horror we have ever known...
people are going to persue whatever they percieve to be in their own interests - and thats always changing because everything in life is in constant motion.
Is it ever really that simple?
IMHO most people deny or down play the negatives and blow up the positives.
The fact that we have known "horror" should tell you something.
Peak Oil and the supposed ramifications thereof is not the only reason for concern Bill and I think you know that.
People are being killed to maintain the 1st world lifestyle.
The environment is being destroyed.
"Worry about shit you cant control all day"
Sorry but some of us are not worrying just watching, thinking and perhaps waiting....it must look like worrying from the outside.
I realize that I am just one of many but also that the many came from just one.
This destructive overly consumptious mentality has been led along by this false positive thinking garbage.
"Everythings gonna be okay"
"People are smart and creative"
"There is nothing to worry about"
Sorry Bill but you are just as much a part of the problem as anyone else.
Everyone of us needs to realize this and do their part.
You suggest that there is nothing to do but play along.
Denial, rationalization and apathy.
Yes the easy path is the widest and most traveled.
The same way of thinking that got us into this mess.
Hey! no biggy....thats the way 99.9% of the population carry on each and every day.
I am sure they make a pill that will take all of your fears away.....
TB - TY ....it was your post that spurred me on

It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.
