And it takes a real devotion to learning and critical thinking to remain above the this saturated visual environment.
Think of a super-charged and greatly broadened version of the tobacco industry's commercial invasion of a wide range of sporting events (nascar and joe camel) and the attachment of macho and adventurous qualities to their product.
Before the advent of the present rightwing propaganda machine with it's many tentacles, it was mainly used in the US to massage the emotions and inclinations of the shopping mall crowd- keeping the consumer herd in prime spending mood.
