$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('TommyJefferson', '
')Miki, the majority of Americans don't give a flip about U.S. foreign policy because it has little or no effect on their day-to-day lives.
Sure it does, they're just too ignorant to understand that it does or they prefer to ignore it.
The war in Iraq alone has cost American taxpayers over $330 billion in tax dollars (at least) that could have gone toward their infrastructure or less dependence on foreign oil. That doesn't include Afghanistan or who knows what else we're paying for so the military can rove around the world as we play big shot bully. Moving those troops costs lots of money.
To help fund this war Bush Inc. borrows the money
with interest from their banker buddies and helps dig us deeper and deeper into debt on a daily basis. All of which drags on the economy.
The fed also helps out by adding their favorite hidden tax: inflation. That's how they can dole out the tax cuts during a war. They'll hide it by having an easy money policy which allows the fed to print more money making your dollars worth less, yet giving the government more to use for their adventurism and crony no-bid contracts.
Considering our foreign policy digs us deeper into debt every single day and drags down the economy, it does affect Americans. They just choose not think it does or they prefer ignorance.

Isn't it strange that the same people who laugh at gypsy fortune tellers take economists seriously?
