$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Torjus', 'J')ust to clarify the wolf thing. When was the last time someone got killed by a wolf in your country???
In North America there have been 28 confirmed attacks and 1 death, which was in November of 2005. The death was a result of a pack of 4 wolves attacking an adult.
I agree that most of the attacks are a result of humans, but we are here to stay. I also understand that attacks are rare. As I stated before, knowledge and preperation are very important when going into the wilderness.
People also need to understand that wolf controll by the Department of Fish and Game isn't because of fear of wolf attacks on humans. It is to controll other animals such as Moose and Caribou. In some areas of Alaska, wolves are greatly threatening the survival of Moose. Fish and Game has to control the quickly escillating wolf population by shooting wolves from helicopters. They also want to legalize "fly and shoot" hunting and trapping of wolves to control the population. Their goal it to protect a balanced animal population, not to remove a so called wolf threat. Their plan is being fought by animal protection groups from other states (PETA, Green Peace, Sierra Club) that feel any hunting is wrong no matter the reason. Both sides are exagerating the facts to achieve their goals. The truth is somewhere in between.
