$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mekrob', 'T')FU, you seem to ignore geopolitics when it comes to NG production. Tell me, where is most of the NG located in the World? Let's see here: Russia, Iran, Qatar, SA, UAE, Nigeria, Algeria, Venezuela, Iraq, Indonesia, Kuwait. Now those don't seem like very friendly allies, do they?
North America has already peaked in NG production. How much longer are we going to be relying on unstable, unfriendly regimes for our increase in NG consumption (and decline in our own production)?
It doesn't matter at all if there is capacity. What really matters when people are starving and NG is in short supply in North America is the ability and capacity to obtain our enemies' lands, it doesn't quite help us out, now does it? That's where the doomerism comes into play.
Ofcourse you are correct that the picture is more complicated then I paint it. I'm not in America but in Europe, this makes me view the natural gas picture differently.
Anyway, geopolitical instability will not cause a peak in production but a slower increase given the amount of countries that there are. Greed rules the world, people will want to sell the stuff. So some countries may not invest enough or lower output. Others will do the other thing around. Natural Gas production will therefore keep increasing worldwide. North America may be f****, that's correct, but honestly, that's not something I am worrying about..... from my personal perspective in the Netherlands.
