Egomaniac

That's me, yep, widely reviled by most, admired and appreciated by just a few. :-D But come on now, who has most consistantly created interest and fun at this site? Who has really understood what this new medium of communication is about? Right. Many of you are reluctant to express or deal with your own Narcissism. Not me! :-D What makes it much more fun is when people get in the game too. We can skip and dance into the End Times.

Alright, now let me try another tack: how much should we rely on ourselves? The whole ego thing is very much measured up against the will of others, who sometimes ally themselves with a kind of mystical collective counter to the individual mind.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'I') can't make fun. you bring good things to life here at peak oil. These people are my friends. you understand me. that is pathetic but real :)
Invite me and my kids to your commune in hippy paradise up in beautiful Northern California. Southern California is pathetic but real. Actually, there's nothing pathetic about about it now, it's later I'm worried about.

We are all petty little tyrants in our behaviour to ourselves and others, you cannot be different.

Only once I met someone without fear, our first enemy I think, very big in my teens up to late 20's.
Though he had no control over his self pity which is self importance SI and that displayed in him a suicidal tendency, tried to hang himself, the idiot.

Laughing at yourself lessens your SI

Found out that my feelings of compassion were based on petty little self pity, wanted to help the poor in Africa.........
Turned out I did go Africa, married an Arab princess, turned Muslim for the government and her family, fought mighty battles and on my way west to do some more.

The great thing about dethroning your personality, SI, is that it really takes a lot of your energy to keep it up. It controls your feelings and behaviour by talking to you, a never-ending internal dialogue.

One can learn to stop it and let your true nature emerge. Amen.
I have not succeeded yet, still egomaniac me. Though less then before.

THe trick here alive is to learn to save energy and store personal power. Then prepare yourself to upcoming personal events, very handy to be aware of culture dying this or next decade.

Well, we'll see.

What happened to schweinie? He must be all wrapped up in the world cup thing. I thought surely he would have something to hit me with on this one. So chocky agrees I'm an egomaniac but the Kid from Minnesota says no, other's are even worse. I hear these guys on the radio doing their constant self promotion and I wanted to try it out. Hey hey! Look at Me! I float like a butterfly, sting like a bee! Anyhow, the result was interesting and thanks to you who said kind things. Remember that movie with Liam Neeson called "Rob Roy"? Tim Roth played the evil Archibald Cunningham who showed that sometimes the villains get the best lines. He said, "Life is but a dung hill, and I am but a cock who crawls upon it to crow." I wouldn't go that far, but it doesn't hurt to crow a bit. Cock-a-doodle-do!
