You never know. I was thinking about taking one last trip down to the US (if they'll let me in) next summer. I'd like to see Texas and Louisianna too. I have relatives in Calif and Texas way, might be kinda neat you know? I am sure we could arrange a nice afternoon and a bucket of cold ones.

I'm probably the one you'd need to keep from embarrasing herself... actually I don't get embarrased very easily, but you might 8O nah, I'd be on my almost best behaviour.

But then, those are the stories that keep you warm on cold Peak Oil nights eh? We'd have to take mondo pictures!!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PenultimateManStanding', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Wednesday', 'Y')eah? Did he impress her with his ignorance and big ego too?
That's mean. What's your problem?

That's not mean! It's accurate!

So if a woman doesn't play the "I'm so helpless and submissive" game, then she's just a meanie.
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

I don't care what you are. But if you insult me, you can expect some kind of feedback. :)

Whatever happened to her? She's cool, I hope she comes back to post again. Politics and ideology be damned, it's people that I care about.

Heh, heh, yeah I look super mean, don't I? My boss at the restaraunt said he saw that pic and thought I looked like a child-molester. I'm the sweetest soul you ever met and wouldn't hurt a fly. See my post on bird watching.

BTW, I don't wear glasses anymore, guys. I went to TJ last summer where they did the modern miracle and implanted synthetic lenses in my eyes.

Did you see him in that David Lynch flick where he ran down some hapless clown who passed his Mercedes? He did the whole massive intimidation thing. Wow, what a scene! So, what, you think I could get in the movies with a face like mine? My kids want to be movie stars, ha! wouldn't it be funny if I was the one to do it! I kid you not, I've had students in my travels as a substitute teacher who asked me if I was "famous".

That's pretty funny. It didnt occur to me that there was a generation gap. That might explain some things.

It's possible that the rights of women may regress in a crumbling society, but it will take several generations to do so.

Women living now won't just magically change into a helpless submissive who can't remember anything of her former life. If you are serious about finding a partner, you need to seriously drop the caveman routine. By the time women regress far enough to want to be your domestic slave, you won't be around either.

However if we don't teach our daughters well (and we haven't) it is entirely possible that in a few generations, all we have will be lost.

College educated women of my generation fully expect the same opportunities. After all, our education cost the same as yours. We grew up this way, are you suggesting that somehow a woman's education will become worthless and a man's will not? The ability to analyze a situation and respond appropriately is not gender specific. If you're depending on flexing your muscles to attract a mate, well you better have some DAMN impressive muscles!

I find despair in the attitude of many women younger than me.
It's possible that this disintegration is already starting.

It will still take a few generations to forget what our foremothers's fought and died for.

The thirteenth amendment to the US Constitution states the following:

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

The situation in Eastern Europe is leading some women into damaging lifestyles that exploit their poverty, but it's questionable that these women ever had much freedom under the Soviet system to begin with.
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
