It's been that long since I'd logged on to PO.com and checked things out. Not one person's replied to this thread since I'd posted that comment how long ago...
And since that time, my wife and I have moved back to northern Minnesota, rent an apartment, are searching for an affordable home to buy. Kids are in school, kindergarten and first grade. We drive fuel-efficient vehicles to and from work. We shop around for after-the-crash items- my wife just bought me one of those hand-crank-recharge flashlights for $40... on clearance...
Heh.
The economy continues to rumble along. My current job is in biomass fuel, for a large taconite-production facility. For those not in-the-know about taconite, it's a key ingredient in the manufacture of steel. The facility uses biomass fuel, sawdust and the like, along with natural gas and coal, to fire monstrous furnaces at 2400F, to fire the taconite pellets and harden them.
I'm not so gloom-and-doom anymore. I figure that things will go the way they go. The economy will crash, but there will be an economy after the crash too. I'm bettin' there's going to be another world war when the economy crashes too, and again, no big deal anymore. "It happens"- to quote another line from "Gump"...
And when it's all said and done, life goes on. For a few of us anyway. I refuse to be one to worry anymore about much- worry doesn't pay the bills. To be frank, it doesn't fill my belly either... odd...
Thanks fer listenin' folks,
