This was covered a few days ago on the board. It's bull****

Do a google news on 'water shortage'.

Water shortage is a problem, but that is not a reason to debunk this technology. If 4oz of water could power a car for 100 miles, then theoretically we would be able to desalinate huge quantities of sea water. The Water Return on Water Invested (WRoWI) would be so large that there would never be either a water or an energy shortage.

But in reality, the water as fuel claim is bogus. If you look closely at this technology you will see that there is another energy source and that water is simply an ingredient into the process-- but it is not an energy ingredient.

I've had a few cars that had leaky cooling systems, and I had to fill the radiator with water based on the amount of driving I did. There I could have made the claim that my car ran on X-amount of water as well.

If something such as an engine that ran purely on water as an energy source was invented, it would simply be the biggest news in the history of humanity.

The hho generator is probably a plasma torch modified to run water instead of air.

the energy comes from electricity.
it would be cheaper to run lithium batteries and run an electric motor.

This kind of stupidity is not a uniquely American privilege. The news here are abundant with this kind of junk stories whenever the gas prices go up.

And it doesn't even matter if the individual solution is brilliant or stupid. (For example they showed a guy here who uses the WW2 technology of wood-gasification, he drives into the woods every 100 km, chops up wood for 30 minutes and on goes the driving...great! But on a large scale?)

This is the global problem of energy analphabetism.

It's a mixture of pure ignorance, idolatry of technology and wishful thinking.

I think the way they set up the video is kind of misleading. Fox news is sensationalist and they don't show things in a factual way.

he's pouring water into electrolysis machine that seperates the water out. he's not pouring it directly into his car.

They say this in that he has a hose from his garage that pumps the hydrogen into his car. Electrolysis, when used from a solar cell or other eco friendly places is better for this than directly charging a car battery.

hydrogen when it runs along a chamber in a properly constructed fuel cell actually does produce better fuel.

like a liter of gas versus a liter of hydrogen, they'll probably cost the same, but the hydrogen will put out maybe 30%-50% more energy than the gas.
