$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Free', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('threadbear', '.')..liebenstraum...
...means "dream of love", I think what you meant is "Lebensraum".
As for the Chinese, I am rather afraid what happens if their dream of the American way of life doesn't come true.
I vividly remember some TV documentary about a Ferrari driving through China, and the interviewed Chinese peasants were very convinced that one day every one of them would own one of them Ferraris, or an equivalent.
What happens if 1 billion dreams are shattered? Because if they think they have nothing worth to live for anymore, they might still have something to die for. Chinese nationalism is rampant, and I think actively supported by the regime to sort of replace the old communistic ideology. China über alles.
As for the USA, I wouldn't be concerned about an external threat. As Bogey said in Casablanca:"Let them just try to take certain districts of New York..."
At least from the outside a collapse from within looks much more likely, a "second civil war" (there is even a movie).
From the outside it looks like the only thing that holds the country really together is money (or hope to lead a better life one day, or at least have the children having it better...)
Liebenstraum and lebensraum together could potentially mean 3 billion Chinese. That's even worse!
I'm in Canada and worry that the Chinese govt. will just load several million onto boats and have them walk into Canada. There's not a darn thing we could do about it, without American intervention.
