$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PrairieMule', 'I') saw the episode last night. I think by not showing Mohamed it had more effect, let the imagination fill in the blanks just like Alfred Hitchcock did in most of his movies. How many times did they show in Psycho does Janet Leigh get stabbed in the shower, once or several times? Zero, they don't show it, our imagination assumes she was stabbed multiple times by the music. Same thing with the Blair Witch Project do we see the ghost, no just victims reactions.
I did not expect the retaliation cartoon to make me laugh so hard. That was classic.
I disagree. After 2 episodes of them self-censoring the image of Muhammad, I wanted the emotional release of seeing him portrayed on the TV in a simple joke. Trey and Matt wanted the same but their corporate masters caved into fear.
I agree about the ending, however. It would have been better if we could have seen the simple Muhammad joke then see them take on their own culture and bash it as well. They wanted to show they were equal opportunity bashers. The first episode was a triumph. The second would have been the ultimate finisher if they were allowed to show what they wanted. But apparently fear rules the day. The terrorists got what they wanted. That just made the end sad, even though I laughed.
Head in the sand indeed.
