Imagine if the commercial had said: "The planet's oil is almost half gone." That doesn't sound too bad to someone who doesn't understand the situation.

I think the ad is great.
Even if the "half the oil is gone" statement is exaggeration. Exaggeration is what tv ads are all about anyway.
If the ad gets 1000 people who were othewise unaware to google peak oil it is well worth it. And if having the ad get yanked makes the news it is a huuuuge plus.

If we're going to get it out to the public, you have to get down to their level. It has to be short and concise, full of swears, jiggling boobs, and repetitive. I mastered all of those (except the boobs). Click this:THIS!!!
