$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')owever, the big users such as the US, China, India, Japan, Canada and the other biggest energy wasters are seemingly planning diligently for a future that cannot possibly exist, and that is really strange. But I suppose we must understand that oftentimes government action (or inaction) is in response to public demand, and since the majority of the public in the countries doing the most serious gluttony are in the dark or denial about peak oil the world's government's responses are predictable.
What does a politician tell a populous about a problem that they know they can’t solve. The best way to stay in office is to say nothing, which is exactly what we are witnessing. The news media, which is almost totally controlled by four corporations, is also doing their duty by graciously saying nothing. We have a population, which for the most part, have very limited analytical skills and the curiosity level of a fruit fly. Most people just stumble through life mimicking someone else and consequently the concept of objective analysis never really occurs to them. They don’t believe they are qualified to make significant decisions, so they bumble through life believing that “
they will do something”. Who are we to deflate their happy balloon by telling them that there is a problem and that “
they” don’t have an answer. Just remember to stay out of the way of the stampeding herd when the balloon pops!
