millions of gallons of spilled Coors Beer

I thought they just recycled spilled beer back into their distillers, along with small amounts of urine.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he entire process, a form of dehydration, takes about two hours and produces 200-proof alcohol. The pure alcohol is more powerful than absinthe or Everclear and packs nearly three times the punch of Jack Daniels whiskey.

During a tour of the site, Wagner reached a hand toward a spigot, poured the crystal-clear alcohol into his open hand and took a taste.

"Yuck," said Wagner, sticking his tongue out. "It's like fire."

i hope that's before they add benzene or whatever to denature it and bring it all the way up to 200 proof....

I remember watching the Today show back in1999? The Wild Turkey distillery in Lawrnceburg ,Ky had a fire that ruptured a tank of over 1 million gallons of Wild Turkey drained into the public water source. Hard to google but I found a old article.

If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Roger Miller, Chug-a-lug:

CHORUS
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug

Grape wine in a Mason jar
Homemade and brought to school
By a friend of mine 'n' after class
Me and him and this other fool decide that we'll drink up what's left
Chug-a-lug, so we helped ourself
First time for everything
Mm, my ears still ring

CHORUS

4-H and FFA on a field trip to the farm
Me 'n' a friend sneak off behind
This big old barn where we uncovered a covered-up moonshine still
And we thought we'd drink our fill
And I swallered it with a smile
*Bllll-bbbb*, I run ten mile

CHORUS

Jukebox 'n' sawdust floor
Sumpin' like I ain't never seen
And I'm just going on fifteen
But with the help of my finaglin' uncle I get snuck in
For my first taste of sin.
I said "Lemme have a big old sip"
*Bllll-bbbb*, I done a double back flip

Coors uses beer waste to make gas substitute

Another reason to go to the pub and forget about PO for a while! [smilie=occasion14.gif]

Why is doing a crap better than doing a woman?

Because after you do a crap you don't have to cuddle up to it and tell it that you love it.

Hope mywife doesn't read this or I'm in real crap !!!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Schweinshaxe', 'T')he problem I have is that I'm a bit shy. I think a lot about beer but I need a couple of women before I dare to go in to a bar and order a beer.

It's the same old story every Friday evening. I've been thinking of beer all week. Now is the time! I'll finaly have a beer and find a way out of my loneliness. I warm up with a couple of women as usual and I feel really great. But when I stand there in front of the bar ready to order, I suddenly don't know what to say anymore. It's like everything I've prepared all week runs out of me. I feel like a child and I go home without even having tried to order a beer. I often feel ashamed and it's not unusual that have a couple of more women just to be able to sleep.

The few times I've actually had a beer have left me with a feeling of emptiness.

I'm thinking of starting a beer dating service which matches up lonely, beerless men with the beer of their dreams.

Why Beer Is Better Than Women

You can enjoy a beer all month long.

Beer stains wash out.

You don't have to wine and dine a beer.

Your beer will always wait patiently in the car while you play ball.

If your beer is flat, you can toss it out.

Beer is never late.

A beer doesn't get jealous when you grab another beer.

A hangover will go away.

Beer labels come off without a fight.

When you go to a bar, you know you can always pick up a beer.

A beer never has a headache.

A beer will never nag you.

A beer won't get upset if you come home and have another beer.

If you pour a beer right, you'll always get good head.

A beer always goes down easy.

You can share a beer with friends.

You always know if you're the first one to pop a beer.

A beer is always wet.

A beer doesn't demand equality.

You can have a beer in public.

A beer doesn't care what time you come home.

A frigid beer is a good beer.

You don't have to wash a beer for it to taste good.

If you decide to change beers, you don't have to pay alimony.

Why is beer such a good stress release?

Unread postby uNkNowN ElEmEnt » Fri 26 May 2006, 22:09:45

Anyone have any ideas? I know its a barbituate but there are other things that would work just as well yes?. Why is a beer or 4 on a friday night such a good cap to the weeek? Why is it a beer can totally help you relax where nothing else will work?

I think it's as much tactile as chemical... it's cold, you have to sit down and start to relax to enjoy it properly, it's an in-the-present kind of experience. It often involves a couch and a TV, which also help.

Sort of like smoking- not just about the nicotine. It gives you something to do with your hands, and an excuse to take 26 daily smoke breaks with your smoking coworkers

WHine, booze and beer

Unread postby ShinyOldLady » Fri 16 Mar 2007, 12:07:00

I understand that in past ages, people drank so much mead, beer and wine because the water was crappy. Is it safer? Any home brewers out there want to share their experiences?

I've stockpiled (that's pretty heavy duty work for my small stock) of single malt whiskey, tequila and apple brandy. Any other recommendations for barter items? I also have a few bottle of everclear for making herbal tinctures, but that stuff is vile and hard to come by.

Part of the beer process involves boiling the water, so there's your safety there...I'm pretty sure the whole lengthy fermentation process for cider, mead, wine, kills off a lot of the nastier bugs...but, you still need to drink water!!!! Alcohol will ultimately dehydrate you!! And, if you are going to boil water to sanitize things, make wort for beer, etc, you clearly have the means to boil water for drinking as well...
That being said, I think it's a great idea to stockpile the supplies for homebrewing, and start learning now!! I've been doing that for the past few months, you pretty quickly learn that making ALCOHOL is easy, what's hard is actually making tasty beverages....But, I can see homemade booze being a hot item post -peak, definetly better to learn how to brew, than to try to stockpile alcohol until TSHTF....

In a cool/temperate climate, alcohol is an (almost) essential chemical for survival. It provides both a sterile drinking substance (beer) and the vinegar essential for pickling & preserving through the winter.

It also has an entertainment value which is useful in a social sense (grin). Also, in a cold winter, the social cohesion that a few beers & a bit of music generates can't be under-estimated (grin).

To make the 'basic' stuff is quite easy, but to make it in large quantities you need either grapes (in a hot climate) or apples (in a temperate one). Then you can make either wine or cider, by basically letteing the crushed juice ferment and then straining & decanting it.

That's it, basically! (You CAN destill either product but it is a complicated process, and best left to the experts.)
