I'm beginning to believe if there is a god and I do face him at the gates of heaven (hopefully many years from now, touch wood) that he may send me to hell for wasting so much time on this damn website.

I was a depressed mopey fuck when I was a kid. And I'm a depressed mopey fuck now. But, god made beer whiskey and st. john's wort, so it's all good. Self medication works great. ooh, and music and good coffee.
Thing is dj, you are so focussed on the bad mights, but completely dismissing our good mights. Why so one sided? Wouldn't a logical analytical approach have to acknowledge that mights are mights?
I still say the same thing I said in March. Go on an adventure. Hell, I've got a wife kids job mortgage... If I could have my youth back, I would set out to ride bike around the world. Or sail. Or hitchhike to peru. Hell I don't know. But why waste your freedom with a bullet? Do it for us old farts. And learn some gallows humor for chrissakes. not enough mick in this kid.
but seriously, you've wasted half a year of your life worrying about something that is essentially unknowable. What else could you have done with half a year? what good did all this worrying do you?

Not sure I mentioned that I purged it from my mind somehow (good critics like Lynch or Hutter?) for about 4 months and had the best summer of my life. I worked at Salvation Army summer camp as a counselor and made friends from South America, England, Germany and Tonga. Lived in the woods of Oregon without a care or worry in the world and reached kids at the same time. Truly a great summer.
So don't assume I was locked in a room rocking back and forth all this time. I guess the Hurricanes and "no spare capacity" brought me back.

I've always been pretty cynical, ironically because I'm a Christian. (I mean, why not be a misanthropist? We're destined to fail as a species). Just don't see how that picture gives you the thousand words you need to know about it. Something about "outies" perhaps?

I literally laughed out loud when I read that - and realized you're probably also right. Wasted time is no less precious than wasted resources. Time we could have been doing some good, perhaps.
