It wasn't just Thatchers claim, it was what we the people wanted, we voted for that, we got the leader we deserved.
Just for the record I was too young to vote then, but there was no trickery, it wasn't spin, it was a choice.
A high tax, help the poor and weak, have good healthcare provision, subsidised public transport OR I'm all right jack screw the rest of ya.
We chose the latter.
Anyway..... a very good friend of mine has just had twins. They went through IVF and have been trying for years. They are over the moon.
They are acting like the opening excerpt from End of Suburbia, it really is a happy go spending world. New fridge, new car, new washing machine, new freezer. (I'm buying their old stuff

)
I will not mention Peak Oil to any new parents, not even my very good freind and I am aware that this is selfish, I am doing the wrong thing.
I know if I were to talk to him about his spending habbit he would think that rude and none of my business. We all know how he will take the whole depletion and lifestyle talk, I will be his good
crazy friend.
I really should say something, I can't look at him and think 'oh well, you screwed up!'. I grew up with this guy. Hes a good guy.
Hope some of you have some ideas, 'cause I've tried nothin, and I'm all out of ideas, to quote someones quotey thing.
